Bloody foreigners! ... you can't trust the Welsh! That's what their name means. It's a Saxon word meaning "foreigner" ... from a root meaning "untrustworthy". To Welsh: "to fail or refuse to do something that one said one would do".
Our slang word "prick" is actually Welsh ... Pric means "stick" in Welsh. We've inherited their foul use of language!
My name is David ... when I was in Wales they kept saying to me "Die"

A petition calling for Wales to be referred to exclusively as Cymru has gathered almost 3000 signatures. Should it reach 10,000 names by June, it will go to the Senedd where it will be considered for debate. Welsh language champion Arfon Jones from Old Conwy began the petition and said: "Wales is a name imposed on Cymru and is essentially not a Welsh word at all. "The world knows about Wales because of its English connection since 1282. This is daft. "Wales" is the name of Wales in English. The name of Wales in welsh is already "Cymru". So this petition is not about "changing the name of Wales" but an attempt to change the English name of Wales. There is no reason why the English name for Wales should be a Welsh word, anymore than the English name for Germany should be changed to something German.

The petition, created by a Welsh racist, is to deny the use of English here
It is my great great great (sixteen more) grandfathers fault
When he landed at Yorvik and did his deal with Alfred he left the sheep worriers be
He should have driven them over the cliffs into the sea at Aberystwyth

This is a typical case of ultra nationalists struggling to be relevant, and in that respect the Senedd have lot in common with the SNP.

It’s OK by me if Wales wants to use its Welsh name. Same for Finland, Germany, Japan, etc, wanting to use their names in their own language, or calling the UK by the name they have in their own tongue.
Aren’t there more important confrontations that need settling…?
