A question put to deputy Prime Minister ( Oliver Dowden ) this morning on SKY News by presenter Trevor Philips Philips showed the Tory MP a chart of 5 pledges made by Rishi Sunak at the begining of the year, only one of which has been achieved, but not by the government, but by the Bank of England ... halving inflation. This comes on top of a poll which shows that Rishi Sunak is now more unpopular amongst the electorate than Boris Johnson, at Johnsons lowest ebb. These are 5 Pledges made by the Prime Minister, which he promised he would achieve this year, if the government fails to deliver, then as the SKY News presenter asked "Whats the point of this government". simplenews.co.uk/politics/what-is-the-point-of-your-government-oliver-dowden-roasted-over-sunaks-broken-pledges/

"what is the point of the deluded left"
All of Keir Starmer’s u-turns and abandoned policy pledges, from child benefits to private schools.
Five pledges Labour has already backtracked on
What are the main U-turns Labour has made under Keir Starmer?

You're deluded if you think that the next one will be any different. Note how fiddles doesn't state that it is Labour who are NOT picking up these disgruntled Tory voters.
Maybe the calibre of Labour MP's speak volumes. Some are so bad they are kept under wraps like Abacus. And lets not even mention those who want to be Labour MP's.
Suzy Eddie Izzard has failed in her bid to become Labour's candidate for Brighton Pavilion at the next general election

A nice pension and a house on the upper Thames perhaps, much like the one that will follow.

My opening post is about the HERE and NOW, not what if, and not assumption on what might happen or could happen if Labour were the government.
The topic here is about the reality that after 13 years of Tory government, we are now worse off, and the economy is struggling, public services are all struggling, the NHS is in a deplorable state, and this began to happen before Covid.
The Prime Minister made five promises to the British people, all but one is now a broken promise
If posters want to guess, or pretend they have a crystal ball to see what difference there might be under a different government, then thats fine, we can all pretend to see into the future, but its still a Tory government that has got us to where we are.

How exactly are we worse off fiddles?

...the economy is struggling, public services are all struggling, the NHS is in a deplorable state... Same as it ever was then, Fiddler. I can't remember a time when the narrative was any different, under any government.

Probably why they have decided the youth vote is so important, there is nobody else left who hasn't noticed what a cluster feck they all are.

I remember when many lauded the arrival of the 'adults in the room' - namely safe hands Rishi who saved the electorate from the right-wing populists. Didn't take long for that to change. Brexiteers outed, now the soft belly of the Conservatives exposed and gouged by the quislings.

Labour candidate's links to Rwanda as Sir Keir Starmer stubbornly opposes scheme. Labour's criticism of Rishi Sunak's Rwanda policy has landed them in hot water after it emerged a new candidate has ties to the country. The PM's controversial scheme to send migrants to the African country - which he insists will help to cut migrant numbers - was rejected by the UK Supreme Court, which deemed Rwanda unsafe, something which the Labour Party has also agreed with. But they have been accused of a double standard as it emerges Sam Rushworth, currently standing to be an MP in Bishop Auckland in County Durham, is the founder of a company that sells holidays for children to Rwanda.

He is a pro EU centrist with no backbone. He is the least Conservative prime minister ever, certainly in my lifetime. In fact, he is not a politician he is an academic, an administrator. He may have made a good adjutant, but he would have been a poor CO. This morning on GB News, Lord Callanan minister for energy was quizzed about the 5 pledges, and he gave the same response as Dowden gave SKY News. So at least they're all singing from the same hymn sheet, yes I know they're all talking bollox but at least they're all talking the same bollox. United in the face of adversity lol.

You're deluded if you think that the next one will be any different. Well yes indeed, in-fact a Starmer led Labour government will in all likelihood be worse, Christ imagine that.

Global pandemic and resultant global debts, and global inflation. War in Ukraine and resultant rise in oil prices due to necessary sanctions. Aside from appeasing Putin and throwing Ukraine under a bus, preventing our exit from the EU and bollocksing up immigration policy even more extremely than the Tories have, and pandering to Hamas, what would Corbyn have done?

Are they sending asylum seekers for a holiday?
