While I think it is time for a change, there is a lot of bullshit talked.
There might be some changes for the better under Labour, but this is way different from 1997. The World has had two massive financial shocks in quick succession (financial crisis & covid), and add to that Ukraine... yet the bullshit narrative is that all our problems are because of the Tories. The simple truth is that everybody needs to pay more tax if we are to have the public services we demand. Yet Labour will push the same old fake narrative of funding services through "getting the rich to pay a fair share", a model that works literally nowhere in the world!
Covid was indeed a massive financial shock, but two big issues you neglect to mention are net zero and immigration. Starmers Labour party are dead keen on both, they also know the electorate are not.
IT IS NOT RACIST TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT IMMIGRATION.
View AttachmentI thought I would leave this graph here for people to look at, you would think that the electorate would know better now than to trust the Tories with our NHS.
You should try working in retail. Its a real eye opener in terms of alerting you to how many utter idiots there are out there. And each and every one of them has the vote, And it doesnt take a lot to persuade idiots to vote for idiotic things that are not even in their own best interests. Tory electoral successes utterly depend upon this.
And if you have never worked in retail or any other role that involves interaction with average Joe Public, try doorstepping in support of any political party of your choice. There really are a worryingly large number of utter twats and idiots out there in sufficient numbers to decide electoral outcomes. Intelligent and thoughtful voters from left to right are utterly swamped in terms of numbers by the twats and idiots, and it is they who decide the outcome of elections.
Brutal reality. And reality check incoming. The problem with democracy is that for good outcomes it is entirely dependent upon stupid people voting intelligently. And that - unsurprisingly enough - is proving to be a problem.
