The schools do pay tax - always have done always will. VAT though is a tax on the purchaser not the supplier. Labour want to make it unaffordable for the average person to afford a private education of the standard that Starmer enjoyed and benefited from. Oh my it gets worse Charities pay VAT on all standard-rated goods and services they buy from VAT-registered businesses. They pay VAT at a reduced rate (5%) or the 'zero rate' on some goods and services. www.gov.uk › vat-charities What the common rate of Vat these days 20%? Do you understand how VAT works? - it is designed to be paid by the consumer, businesses do not pay VAT on goods and services they supply to the customer. If you put VAT on School Fees it is not the School that pays the VAT.. come on this is pretty basic..

[b No I don't understand I'm going on about what vat the private schools pay for there purchases. OK - let me try and put it more simply for you. Currently if a School purchases a new computer as a charity it pays a reduced rate of 5% VAT - as it is the consumer of the product. If the School sells a service (education) to a parent then that parent will pay 20% VAT - as they are the consumer of the product.

And of course whatever the parent buys that is income for the school and they don't pay a penny of tax on that income Like I said what has what the parent pays in vat got to do if what the private school pays in income tax. Don't understand why you and the rest of the right wingers support such Millionaire tax burden on the tax payer

Over here it's UK-wide so added automatically, which requires no thinking. Still, it goes to show that Labour supporters know very little about the economics of this country, which will obviously encourage those who want to bankrupt the UK.

Ha ha labour make the Country bankrupt. It shows how little you right wingers understand the Economy conservatives have been in power over more Recessions than labour since 1920. To be fair labour do make a mess of the economy. The leave such a mess other parties. , such as the tories and snp , have to come in and make swinging cuts to pay off the collusul debt left in labours wake. Labour were in charge of Glasgow city council for 83 years , and when they were finally booted out, they had bankrupted the city council , the books were a fucking mess , they spent years fighting equal pay for female council workers , and the snp administration had to come in , tidy up the mess , and sell off council buildings to pay labours equal pay debts that ended up in court. I believe in England , the labour Birmingham council had the same thing happen , and from memory other labour councils such as Croydon the same. They then went onto blame central government in Edinburgh and London for their own mess. The labour parties speciality is leaving financial ticking time bombs ( and notes saying no money left) for other parties to deal with , as well as collosul PFI debt , and then they run around screaming about the fiscal incompetence of other parties that they left In the first place. If I were you , as a labour supporter I would steer clear of hills to die on such as fiscal competence and migration control among many others.
