Which I'm happy to pay for rather than being forced to fund the endless propaganda spouted by the BBC. It's only the Labour supporters who are insisting on extortion to pay for the endless propaganda. They do this whilst screaming about stupid right wingers. They even try and advertise for the BBC on here, which may well be in breach of the board's contract. It's the same repetition everytime this topic is brought up.
The idea that the people could break free from the shackles of the BBC terrifies them.
This is the key point. When you look at those who claim to be happy with the output and declare it the best in the world they are all from the left side of the political divide. I wonder if they would be so keen if the BBC was biased to the right instead of the left?..

I have put forward several arguments on these board that the BBC not only is not left wing, but that it is not possible for the entire corporation to be biased either Left or Right.
The on-line encyclopedia Wikipedia has dedicated an entire article about percieved bias within the BBC, and the article lays out the different claims and counter claims, and how the BBC has been accused of been Left, Right, Pro Israeli, Pro Palestinian, Anti Israeli, Anti Palestinian, Anti American, Pro American, anti Europe, Pro Europe.
You name it, theres always someone unhappy about the BBC's reporting of events, which just goes to show, its all a load of rubbish.
But heres the other point - The producer and editor of Newsnight will be a different producer and editor to Question Time, the production team of the 10 O Clock BBC1 News will be a different team to Panorama, and the people who produce PM on Radio Four, will be different people with different bosses to the people who produce Newsbeat on Radio One or Any Questions on Radio Four.
The idea that the entire News & Current Affairs output and content is all Left biased, is not simply utterly ridiculous, its also not possible.
I have also posted on these boards that the BBC ( our BBC ) should not be a political football, and instead it ought to be an institution which unites both Left and Right, because the BBC is the best, and its British, we should all be proud of it.

If it was half as good as they make out then they wouldn't be this fearful.

Then you won't mind it being subscription based and not an extortionate racket where only the Marxists are cheerleading for it. Put it to the test and see what the people really want.

Look even if the BBC was for free I still wouldn't watch it, the fact that we have to pay for it is scandalous, if we were all asked to pay a fee of £170 a year to gain access to the NHS everyone would be up in arms FFS.
I'd rather give the NHS £170 a year for a service that I will get a return and value for money.

I am probably the BBC's number 1 fan and defender on these boards, and I am most certainly not a Marxist.
If you relegate the BBC to Subscription Only, then, as set out in my defence of the organisation, you destroy it, and condemn it to the same level of trash as most commercial stations.
The BBC is our state broadcaster, it projects British influence across the world, we should all contribute, just like we all contribute to schools, libraries and social services.

It serves no essential purpose other than delivering propaganda for the Left, which is why they are the most vocal in its defence. To try and compare it to more essential services only demonstrates how desperate you have become. No one will die without it.

Listen sid the BBC should remain impartial in politics, both left or right, they are publicly funded (don't ask me why?), how the BBC ever gained tax payer funded status I will never know.
A stealth tax imposed on people whether they use it or not, I am surprised ...... NO dumbfounded why some hotshot lawyer hasn't made a name for themselves challenging this fee, surely we could all form a Class action law suit to challenge this BBC fee.

Here's a idea, don't pay your licence fee, and give it to fund a class action law suit against the BBC, you do realise the BBC will NOT have the money to challenge such a BIG law suit.
Let's shut down this arrogant, self serving, bias lefty political platform once and for all.

It's a very powerful corporation and clearly has more weight than many people would like to believe. As it stands it can make or break governments whilst breaking all the rules. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the reason GBNews popped up, because the BBC only employs Marxist types and never offers a real debate.
BBC = Chief propagandist for the Left.
It needs to be broken down at the very least and funded under a voluntary system.

Totally agree, let's bring them down to size, they've become a law unto themselves, a General Election is looming and we don't want FREE platforms for the lefty campaign.

As I said earlier:
It's 2023 - we don't need a state broadcaster. Defund the BBC.

I'm not completely sure that is what all the GBP want. Apart from a discerning few the great majority seem content with any old dross as long it isn't too taxing and doesn't call for a mental age older than 12. American TV in fact.
An alternative approach could be for the BBC to return to its Reithian roots and principles and offer subscriptions rather than depend on license fee income. It could then retire from the race to the bottom that it is currently engaged in.
I get the impression that right-wingers feel best by insulting people when they find they have no valid argument. It seems that millions of viewers disagree with you.

Blimey, the BBC even have their stormtroopers on here desperately trying to convince people to pay for Gary Lineker. Stormtroopers were extremely right-wing last time out. Are you suggesting that the BBC is very right-wing?
