I suppose the bottom line is tha I, and many others, value the quality of output from the BBC, and the fact that without the BBC we would be swamped with even more American shite, cheap programmes and endless repeats with long, drawn out commercial breaks.

Some posters are clearly happy for British TV content to be dragged down, and for the BBC to be more or less defunded.

But I will always argue in favour of spending less than the price of a pint of beer per week to keep it, and that it should be mandatory to do so.
