Stock up on candles and batteries... What, just like the last time we had an actual Labour government? I have an uncannily familiar sense of déjà vu.

I can just imagine the likes of ancient Egyptians who built pyramids with no more than a handful of tools, laughing their head off at us. To think over 2000 years ago they built structures like that, and here we are today with big useless oversized monstrosities of windmills in the middle of fields and seas .... and this is the 21st century. Fortunately hugely negative opinions count for nothing. ^^^

LibDem Rodney Trotter was deputy prime minister of the ConLib coalition. We had a Tory government from 2015. The Lib Dems got a few minor concessions, they were then ignored as the Tories continued to run the country. How much influence do you think John Prescott had over New Labour? Well they stopped any further building of nuclear power stations - something they crowed about.

The Scottish Government, with the backing of the Scottish Parliament, has stated that no new nuclear power stations will be constructed in Scotland. E.ON UK, RWE npower and Horizon Nuclear Power have been pulling out of their initial plans for developing new nuclear power plants, placing the future of nuclear power in the UK in some doubt.

Industrial production of submarine sized systems assembled inside a similar vessel are a fraction of that. Yes my teams back in the day designed control systems for both types.

Nick Clegg has vowed to veto a new generation of nuclear plants if they require a single penny of public money

I really don't like to ask but can you show evidence of this "agreement" not to build nuclear? Because the only evidence I've seen so far is that there was agreement to follow NL plans.

Indeed, apparently the government are concerned about Putin's cyber boffins switching off the UK energy grid which is why deputy PM Dowden is telling us to 'think analogue' lol, bit late for that I think.
