Politicians like mass immigration because it gives the impression of economic growth without them having to do anything - that is why they were overwhelmingly in favour of EU membership and now want to continue with the same scheme. The only way things will change is if the electorate hold their feet to the fire and force that change - luckily the electorate now has that power. The big question is whether they will use that power. YES! You've finally recognised that immigration is about short term tax receipts. Yes but you constantly fought against my suggestion that government continued immigration to raise money. So are you ready to discuss the obvious conclusion. That if the government stop the immigrant ponzi scheme we will need to raise the missing tax in some other way? |

Immigration simply enlarged the cake - it didn't make anyone have a larger slice of the cake. If you accept that the cake is going to be smaller then you don't need as much tax. Immigrants are not a net contributor so individuals are no better off. |
