LOL! They are disqualified because they were born with a 'male' physique. They are still women by a definition that categorises according to the bio-chemical make-up of the brain. Different societies can and have defined sex by different criteria. There is no correct criterion. There is no platonically ideal woman by which to gauge 'womaness'. No definition is more legitimate than another. Nobody is saying that transgender women are women by your definition. They patently are not women by that definition. But they are women by another definition. Neither definition can be correct. It is a matter of preference, a social construct that can legitimately vary from time to time and place to place. Feel free to give us some examples. There is currently no society that believes that individual feeling trump biology, so I'd be interested in what societies you have in mind. There have been societies that have recognised up to 8 genders. Google it yourself. Are you seriously suggesting that human concepts such as gender can't change? Biology can't change. Concepts can. One such concept closer to home has already been mentioned: there was a time when the concept of insanity included homosexuality.

I disagree, I think the double standards over Lineker and Sugar illustrates my point perfectly. The difference is that, unlike Lineker, Sugar was never an employee of the BBC. The Apprentice was an MGM production. Lineker is freelance.

In principle I have no problem with it unless he was in breach of contract/agreement.

If that's your understanding... well its currently the Law - feel free to point out where it is wrong So you say you understand the difference then lump them back together? That doesn't tell me you know the difference. Transvestism involves wearing clothes traditionally associated with a different gender for emotional or sexual reasons without a desire to change one's gender identity. On the other hand, being transgender is identifying and feeling a disconnect between one's assigned sex at birth and their gender identity. It's a profound, personal experience of identifying as a gender different from the one assigned at birth.

Maybe because I bothered to look them up! I totally deny that I am Andrea at weekends. Mostly because I can't put my bra on.

So, if we rewind the discussion to before where you branched into lineker - Linekar is an example of 'gaming the system'. Society is no longer able to resolve 'who decides' and so the right's solution is that nobody does. We keep our money and linekar and Sugar work elsewhere. No double standard.

Every lefty on here supports laws to lock people up for so-called misgendering, and they also insist on brainwashing little children in schools with their gender theories, where mummy has a penis.

Yes, people can change their gender - but society is based on differences of biology, and that you cannot change. Eddie Izzard identifies as a Transvestite - fine, nobody cares. Eddie Izzard identifies as Transgender - fine, nobody cares. Eddie Izzard identifies as Woman - No, he obviously is not a Woman.

LOL! So you cannot cite these societies - as suspected..
