Marching for peace on Armistice day shouldn't be controversial. Banning a peace march on Armistice day would be. The ultimatum was set. Release the hostages and ceasefire will happen. The fact that the marches are Hamas stormtroopers who are calling for the genocide of Jews in Israel and ignoring the ultimatum tells us that these are not peace marches.
I say bring out the army so they can see old folk (vets) being punched, kicked and spat on first hand. After all, most of them will be old themselves someday.

This seems to be the latest media storm so lets try to understand what is happening here. Some people wish to exercise their democratic rights to express their view that the UK Government should call for a ceasefire to end the violence in Gaza. Whether you agree with their view or not, it seems a legitimate cause given that c 5000 children have been killed in the last month alone. This Sunday is Rememberance Sunday and commemorations will be held in London and elsewhere as normal on Sunday. In recent years we have for some reason developed a habit of also commemorating 11 November as well as Rememberance Sunday so further ceremonies will take place this year on Saturday 11th November at 11am. Both Rememberance events will centre on Whitehall. That's all fine. There is also planned to be a March in support of a ceasefire in Gaza on Saturday. It will start later in the day than the Rememberance ceremony and take place in a different part of London. Is the proposed demonstration a "call for a ceasefire", or just more 'poor me' pro-Arab discontent? Your obvious racist contempt for the sufferings of Arabs is both contemptible and totally biased. Never again can you credibly claim to be unbiased after your totally biased stance in the Israel/Palestine issue. Now you are showing yourself in your true colours, a Zionist extremist.

There is a paradox in most things, to show mercy, be empathic etc is to show weakness to the psychopathic mind, and boundaries will get pushed further. In this case, more Israelis will die in future attacks, the only thing to do is to show that future attacks will be met by destruction. Bad like. Dont do it again. The Israelis should prosecute the war to make themselves more secure whatever form that takes. Gaza should become Israeli, occupation or owned. F international law, follow that and Israelis die. Follow international law and Britain gets invaded. Capiche? This forum lacks a laughter icon for shit like this, lol

I've said this repeatedly: If these marches are really about peace, then why aren't they calling on Hamas to release the hostages?
I'm still waiting for a lefty to be able to answer.

Well I am not going to do a see 2 and run away or dismiss as nonsense unwelcome facts. I am a lefty and have no answer. Certainly it would tremendously boost their credibility if whilst calling for a ceasefire they also called for the release of hostages. That they don't just illustrates a pro-Palestinian bias as entrenched as is the pro-Israeli bias of the likes of see 2. Nevertheless, people have the right to peaceful protest, and whether or not we agree with their cause is irrelevant. Of course, there should be a police presence both to protect the marchers from violent attack and prevent them from themselves indulging in violence, as well as to record and arrest anyone indulging in hate speech or attempting to instigate violence against people or property. As far as I am concerned, the police could and should get as tough as necessary within the law to arrest and apprehend such elements.

They seemed singularly unable to do that as regards the Colston statue and public property was dismantled and thrown away.

In their defence though statues of slave traders should have been taken down long ago, so a case of the people doing what the authorities should have done but didnt. Not quite in the same league as beating people up, torching cars, or vandalising and looting shops. Their disorder was laser focussed on an obvious afront to decency. Any who went further than that should have been prosecuted of course. But were not the so called Colston four charged but acquitted in court on the grounds that such a statue itself represented a gross provocation? Like I said, it should have been removed years ago, and that it wasn't forced decent people to take the law into their own hands. As decent people will when the authorities fail to act.

Like I said, it should have been removed years ago, and that it wasn't forced decent people to take the law into their own hands. As decent people will when the authorities fail to act. Oh dear. There are many things that should have happened long ago the whole point of having the rule of law is that applies to all. The fact that the jury were misled by the likes of Olusoga as an 'expert' but decidedly biased witness is quite cogent. If decent people took the law into their own hands there would be much shouting from the left as some decent people wanted to protect statues last time around and were branded by the left as bigots and racists. Even now those who may arrive to defend the Cenotaph have been branded yet during the London riots we had Sikhs with knives, clubs and swords guarding their holy place and were applauded. There is a serious and mixed up moral compass along the way and the main problem is the left believe not only are they right but they are also righteous. EDIT It seems there has been another Muslim perpetrated massacre in South Sudan that is now coming to light. If 'peace' is the operative word the thousands being killed by Muslims in South Sudan certainly needs action. Once again the left are quiet, their angst and anger is saved for the proper channels and against and for the proper peoples. I smell hypocrisy.

That is if it is a march for peace, and not just more Israelophobia as seen ever since they lost the war to destroy Israel. As far as I'm aware it is a march calling for a ceasefire. Which is not exactly a march for peace. A march for peace would exclude any aggro towards the police and have to make peace the priority on any placards. We shall see what the march produces.

LOL! It hasn't even started yet and already Dippy's trying to blame the inevitable violence on a fictitious "Far right". No surprise there. But what is a surprise is that these anti-Semitic hate marches are being allowed to take place at all. Presumably Squeezed doesn't think that Braverman and the tabloids campaign to promote division and hatred this week is likely (indeed designed) to provoke idiots to go on the streets looking for a fight. There was a time when idiotic language such as his would be the preserve of keyboard warriors. Now it is spread to politicians holding great offices of state. Scary what we are in danger of becoming all to climb the greasy pole. This was the course you set your fellow Brits on when you howled for more multiculturalism upon these shores. You reap what you sow.
