I am happy to allow the IOPC to do their job and investigate fairly complaints made against the Police. I have no reason to believe they are biased or trying to discredit the police. I am aghast that people who drive like De Santos and try and evade the police and then are insulting on being stopped are not censured by such bodies and the police given support. I am not sure how you can use the word 'fair' when considering the outcome.

The two athletes were stopped because they were in a posh car ( black people in an expensive car ) The two lying police officers claimed they could smell cannabis coming from the car, occupied by two Olympic athletes who have never smoked in their lives. The lying police officers then severely over-reacted, forcing the couple out of the car, leaving their two year old child on its own, screaming, and the mother also frantic with fear and worry for her child. We always knew what the outcome would be - the lying police officers have rightly been sacked The next thing that should happen is that the money raised by crowdfunding should be taken from the two disgraced officers and given to charity. Sid I agree with you for once - where's the smelling salts ?

Your feelings aren't that important to me Dan A cross I shall have to learn to bear with fortitude.

Perhaps, as a starting point, we could each look at how many times we have been stopped by the police while driving. I have been stopped three times since Christmas while driving leased or rented company cars (BMW, Lexus, Mercedes) — twice in London and once in Kent. I don’t think Mrs P has ever been stopped.
I can’t remember fully the excuses given for the stops, but they usually begin by asking if I’m the the owner of the vehicle I’m driving and then a comment or question about speed limits, road restrictions or some such. I was once asked if I was smoking — all polite exchanges, but the stops were totally unnecessary (I’m a qualified driver with RoSPA accreditation for favourable insurance rates if necessary).
So far I have an on the spot fine for speeding on the autoroute on the way to Calais, a few parking fines, and one fine for entering a blocked off road in a local LTN.
I don’t recall any of my work colleagues mentioned being stopped…

I suspect that they are casting their nets where they know they will catch more fish.

Perhaps, as a starting point, we could each look at how many times we have been stopped by the police while driving... As a young motorcyclist I was stopped umpteen times and only on one occasion had I ever committed an actual offence (speeding). But on no occasion did I ever find it necessary to behave like Williams and Dos Santos, who are now learning a salutory lesson: You have to behave with respect in order to garner respect. The public have seen the videos of them acting like arseholes and are now treating them accordingly. Meanwhile, the crowdfunder for the officers is going through the roof.

There's a reason why the police Territorial Support Group vehicle and its crew of nine was tasked with patrolling the area of Ladbroke Grove, Shepherd’s Bush, White City, Edgeware Road and Lisson Grove rather than, say, South Kensington, Richmond or Bromley.

In the second page of this thread, I wondered what sort of people would choose to spend their money to support this "cause"
Having read Dan and Sandy and similar posts on this thread, that question at least has been answered......

I'd add people who have a keen sense of justice and don't care for political witch-hunts in aid of dubious causes.

There are real people who actually believe that this country is riddled with swivel eyed whites racists that hunt down black motorists for sport and deny black job candidates regardless if it harms the company that they work for . They spread these lies into society to poison it.

Police are behind a car occupied by black people as it approaches a red light. The car turns off the road before it reaches the red light ... because the occupants live nearby and don't need to go through the red light.
Suspicious behaviour!
When the police pounce on the car after it parks outside the occupants house ... having driven at a safe speed knowing the police are behind them ... the police yell:"You went through a red light!"
... and bombard the occupants with other false accusations whilst acting in a threatening manner ... taking no notice when told: "This is where we live!".
This was a case of the police, several of them, getting their knickers in a twist ...then trying to lie their way out of the fix they'd got themselves in.
