As a matter of interest I have had a browse of The Christian Party UK's website, and yes, you guessed it, their policies include .... forcing children to attend Christian only assemblis at school as a matter of law, but no legal requirement to teach other faiths. A return to traditional family life, where divorce and gay people are frowned upon, no doubt we would go back to the "traditional" shop and pub opening hours on a Sunday. NOt really very different from what an Islamic Party might suggest, taking us backwards from the libetarian and free society that we all enjoy today. ukchristianparty.org/I feel a meme coming on...

I don't think that you can compare the requirement to behave with decorum and discretion that our parents practised with the customs now being carried out in the Islamic paradises that you lefties imagine exists.
Let me explain the realities, when working in Saudi Arabia in the seventies it was a regular Friday treat for the faithful to enjoy the spectacle of people who have carried out minor transgressions like theft, smoking in public during ramadan being whipped, having limbs amputated and in one case a young women being buried under rubble for adultery. Some years later in the nineties I was working in Abu Dhabi and picked up a copy of the Gulf News, I read an article about some bloke who had committed sodomy being put in a sack and being thrown of a high cliff resulting in his death in Iran
If you really think that this is the sort of barbaric behaviour that lapsed in our country in the middle ages is comparable with our current life style then I think that you may not have any experience of the Islamic State that you fondly refer to. These people have no place in the United Kingdom.

Europe has had enough of Religious, perhaps well meaning people, and others, taking 'God's' power into their own hands and controlling people as though they were doing God's work for him. Be aware of the self indoctrinated Muslims who believe you should believe as they do. They may be a minority but they are a dangerous minority.

Pathetic post Barbarism and intolerance is alive and thriving in many majority Christian countries, especially in Africa, where the threat of death is a reality for homosexual men, thanks to the love and peace that is spread by so called Christians. You seem to believe that I would defend Islam .. certainly not, I have as much distaste for Islam as I do Christianity, whether it be the so called Holy Roman Catholic Church riddled with child molestors, or the moralising, meddling Evangelicals or Jehovas Witnesses.

Actually in Africa it is the Fulani herdsmen (militia) who are systematically murdering the Christians in Nigeria. (They're Muslims)
How many homosexuals have been sentenced to death, so far, Fiddler?

Abortion only became legal in Ireland in 2019 - up until them many Oirish girls got on the boat to Liverpool. It is a country run by religous zealots.. The discussion and point was about a british religous party called the DUP ,
The DUP is based in the island of Ireland which is (irrespective of what side of the border you are on) a place run by religous zealots. Of course the situation in Ireland was made worse when the Scots arrived bringing their sectarianism with them.

It's not just Muslim fundamentalists that distort religion for their own nefarious ends.

Just been reported that an application to register a new "Party of Islam" in the UK has been rejected by the Electoral Commission. The independent body, which regulates election standards, said the would-be party's proposals "did not meet the requirements set out in electoral law". While this must be seen as good news - with hundreds of thousands of Muslims flooding across the channel every year I cant help worrying for the future of this country. Actually this has done Labour a favour, if such a party was formed that would mean Labour would lose about 4 million Muslim votes, so I suspect Labour would not want this to happen. Indeed, I mentioned elswhere that in no fewar than 30 constituencies Labour rely on Muslim votes. If the 'Party of Islam' became a reality it would not only be the end of the Labour party, it would be the end of this country.

Really? Well actually thinking about it, yes I can see that, you're probably right. Lets face it, generally speaking Muslims aren't known for compassion and tollerance. Which is probably why they're pouring into the UK. They know we are tolerant mugs who will kneel and beg forgiveness and will understand and sympathise with anyone who hates us. I'm so glad I was born in the 1950's. Btw JoG, are you well? Please feel free to ignore. Hi Red This business of political and social engagement is a bit varied according to imam and sect. This is an entertaining read islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/3062As to my current wellbeing, i’ve been better. I had a spate in not intensive care but close monitoring after a resurgence / repeat of a staph aureus infection in the capillaries leading to something called cellulitis. The infection is killed off fairly easily once intravenous treatment starts, BUT it causes huge swelling in the tissues that hurts like fuck and takes AGES to recede. And i’m in that phase now, sleep deprived and about as friendly as a cornered komodo dragon…. LOL, 'a cornered komodo dragon', excellent analogy. I don't pretend to understand but I certainly sympathise. I hope you feel better soon.

When I was in a small town in Ireland, I got talking to a woman who was active in the local Catholic church. When I said to her: "You don't believe in God?" She laughed and said: "Most of us get over it by the time we're seven. We make allowances for the priests". Ireland is no longer as it was ... the women have taken over and remodelled the place.
Irish GDP per capita $100,000 UK .. GDP per capita $41,000

Neither is christianity , and possibly most others religions. Surely the best way of defeating political views of parties you deem minority and extremist is to givve them a platform and debate them , instead of trying to ban them?
Ive long argued the same about extremists like the BNP , and the loonier sections of UKIP. Among others.
See 2 by the way doesnt care about promoting islam . He is merely bothered that starmers new labour will lose even more islamic support , and that his centrists rely on the two party model so the left have no where else to go.
Please don't post lies about. Muslims are increasing in numbers year on year, partly apparently because they tend to have large families. It is obvious to me that Islam is an overly self indoctrinating religion, this means that their emotional system/feelings has greater control over their logical thinking than one might expect to be normal. Think about it. The human brain cannot feel anything at all, it recognizes physical feelings like pain that occur outside of the brain and hormonally controlled emotional feelings from learnt emotional experiences. you can see why your disgusting party is losing the muslim vote. Great stuff see 2 .
I have high hopes for you and your party shooting itself in both feet before the next GE.

The discussion and point was about a british religous party called the DUP , not one of the least religious countires in the world.
Survey finds Ireland is one of the least religious countries in the world
only England and Iran have clerics in their legislatures.....
But only Iran gives such people any power.

The british part of the island of ireland is where the massive sectarian and religous problems are , while the non british part is one of the least religous countires in the world.
When was that?

It's not just Muslim fundamentalists that distort religion for their own nefarious ends. indeed. The catholic church for example has fone so for millennia The Shia Moslem and the Roman Catholic share a doctrinal insistence on the position of the imam/priest as fundamental without which no mortal man may be enlightened. The Sunni Moslem has much in common with the Lutheran Protestant, for each believes it to be within the capability of man to find his own enlightenment through personal study of their holy writ. Of course the Sunni, unlike the Lutheran, holds the view that the Koran is canonical only in the arabic tongue in which it was recited in the oral tradition, and the two translations i found many years ago on the ‘Sacred Texts’ website - i downloaded Richard Burton’s translation - are at best viewed as being ‘The Meaning Of The Koran’. This theological difference of opinion is of course only one of the reasons these sects were heavily into beheading each other for all sorts … they are in fact almost as bad as the Roman Catholics versus the Church of England. I am not personally aware of one set of imams launching an armada against the other mind. Nor am i aware of any record of Allah creating a tempest to explain to one side the inaccurate nature of their beliefs, which is of course exactly what the Christian god did to explain to the Spanish how mistaken THEY were…..

Mainly between 1600 and 1700 - most of the Scottish migrants were Presbyterian which has led to the DUP we see today.
