Just been reported that an application to register a new "Party of Islam" in the UK has been rejected by the Electoral Commission. The independent body, which regulates election standards, said the would-be party's proposals "did not meet the requirements set out in electoral law". While this must be seen as good news - with hundreds of thousands of Muslims flooding across the channel every year I cant help worrying for the future of this country. i thought engagement with the electoral ststem was haram ??

Banning political parties is a highly dangerous act, and risks compromising democracy
There are political parties in the UK entitled The Christian Peoples Alliance and The Christian Party, both are probably not recognised or registered with The Electoral Commission.
The fact that a political party entitled "The Party Of Islam" will not be recognised or registered by the electoral commission, does not mean that the party cannot put up candidates or stand in elections.

Really? Well actually thinking about it, yes I can see that, you're probably right. Lets face it, generally speaking Muslims aren't known for compassion and tollerance. Which is probably why they're pouring into the UK. They know we are tolerant mugs who will kneel and beg forgiveness and will understand and sympathise with anyone who hates us. I'm so glad I was born in the 1950's. Btw JoG, are you well? Please feel free to ignore.

I would rather like to see the party of Islam become a political party, as they already have the Muslim Council of GB - a government in waiting. Then we can see how much support there is for Sharia law in this country. The Labour party would be the party most likely to lose votes to them, of course. Likely constituencies where they would win, might be Bradford or Tower Hamlets areas. They might get a couple of MPs and then be properly involved in democracy.

I agree with Pacifico's point. However, this is not just a domestic issue. The Left will of course scream abuse over that, but before they do, perhaps they should be addressing freedom of religion in Saudi Arabia and why the Saudi regime is pouring money into funding Islam in our country. There was a report in 2017 where Saudi Arabia was the largest contributor to Islamic extremism in the UK. news.sky.com/story/saudi-arabia-top-of-the-list-in-funding-extremism-in-britain-10937309It was covered by most of the media at the time, with some suggestion that some of it was suppressed. With Pacifico's point in mind this will obviously lead to normal folk rejecting this party on the grounds that it's threatening. The solution is further regulation over who is allowed to form a political party, which will of course be decided behind closed doors.

If they wont have a National Front or the BNP party because it's too white, we can't have a foreign party because it's too foreign.

I'm sure that the muslims who are trying to set up this party will soon get round any problems that the Electoral Commission have - a little rewording here and there will suffice. But I'm not sure it's such a bad idea that they have their own party. After all it'll reduce the Labour vote - i.e. split the vote for the anti-semitic anti-West Left which can only be a good thing.
And we'll know where to look for voter fraud too.

How will they get round membership criteria as the equality act does not allow discrimination for any protected characteristic for a registered political party?

Please feel free to ignore. Hi Red This business of political and social engagement is a bit varied according to imam and sect. This is an entertaining read islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/3062As to my current wellbeing, i’ve been better. I had a spate in not intensive care but close monitoring after a resurgence / repeat of a staph aureus infection in the capillaries leading to something called cellulitis. The infection is killed off fairly easily once intravenous treatment starts, BUT it causes huge swelling in the tissues that hurts like fuck and takes AGES to recede. And i’m in that phase now, sleep deprived and about as friendly as a cornered komodo dragon….

Actually this has done Labour a favour, if such a party was formed that would mean Labour would lose about 4 million Muslim votes, so I suspect Labour would not want this to happen.

The reasons for rejection are that
‘the would-be party's proposals "did not meet the requirements set out in electoral law"’
‘their proposed constitution did not satisfactorily set out the structure and organisation of the party’
‘Their proposed financial scheme did not meet the requirements set out in electoral law’
‘Their application form was also non-compliant with electoral law’
I don’t have any further details on what they tried to do, but i do know a fair bit about the process having been involved in it for two separate organisations ….

Well they seem to be leaving Labour in droves because Starmer is not with programme. It may not be all but it may be a sight larger than you think

Muslims stick together, Labour looks like it's outlived its usefulness, Starmer doesn't appear to want to play ball, Labour have always been useful idiots to the Muslim communities, once they form their own political UK party Labour will be history.

IMO it seems more than likely that the 'The Party of Islam' would mainly be aimed at promoting Islam and Islamic control. I find the Idea of an over self indoctrinating religion, which I see as more of a cult than a religion, being given access to promoting itself to the public, to be a threat to normal thinking people. So I am pleased it has been held back.
