I'd like to know why the title says ''The end of London as a British city'' yet the poll used as evidence says ''white British''. Why would a British city need its transport signs in any language other than English?. Every year that passes London is becoming less British. When was London ever representative of the rest of Britain? Besides, it's still called Whitechapel. Get back to me when they change the name to Brownmosque.

It would seem the BBC disagree with you. Cockneys are becoming a dying breed
Cockneys are becoming a dying breed in one east London borough, according to a new BBC documentary. The film, the Last Whites of the East End, claims that white British people are leaving the borough in such numbers that 73 per cent of the local population is now made up of black and minority ethnic people - link If they can't afford to live there they should have worked harder at school and got a better job. Isn't that the conservative point of view? They move because they can't afford the housing. Don't talk bloody rubbish. I know two 'Cockneys' who's families had lived in London for generations. They moved away because the neighborhood had turned into a unfriendly lawless immigrant infested shit tip.

The problem is that by throwing open the doors to mass immigration we now have several communities that are large enough to be self sustaining - there is not the need to assimilate as there would have been in the past. Communities now have their own radio stations, TV stations, newspapers etc - for many they dont even need to learn English to interact with the State as they have translations provided. We have created a city with a loss of community where different groups lead isolated lives with nothing in common.

The question is what is the critical mass of unassimilated communities (who are British citizens by default and see the rest of us as enemies ) that can become a real threat to the UK?

Can anyone place this platform sign that adorns an English station, and for bonus points, what language it's in? If it's any help the same station also has platform signs in Irish.
