The equivalent of Frenchness , Germaness, Irishness and Icelandness etc. A particular trait , culture and value that the people there have . Lefties seem to attribute enough negative ones to England and the English..not to mention the Welsh, Scots and Irish with shoulder chips. |

I cant help noticing that comments from the forums outraged left are pretty thin on the ground. Quelle surprise. I'd like to know why the title says ''The end of London as a British city'' yet the poll used as evidence says ''white British''. You don't have to be white to qualify as a British citizen. Show me the figure for the percentage of Londoners who don't qualify for a British passport. |

''White British'' is nothing more than a racist trope. Skin colour has nothing to do with being British. |

You don't have to be white or even British to have been born within the sound of Bow Bells. With today's traffic noise the number of true Cockneys born each year is probably in the hundreds. Might get a few thousand when everybody drives electric cars. |

If you want people to be able to stay in London you need more subsidized housing or higher wages in lower paid industries. |
