Stop hiding from the question ‘ warrior’ lol. Heres another chance .. I wonder how keen on EVs the eco worriers would be if the raw materials for batteries were in Sussex , Surrey and Kent instead of a long way away where it a third world country? Well I don't know any ECO warriors, but if you're asking me I'm fine with it. Good money for the country too. Are you happy to enslave Surrey children to dig it? You can stop digging now . You’ve told me everything I need to know about virtue signalling Eco worriers that hide behind Whataboutery .

Are you happy to enslave Surrey children to dig it? I answered yours luddite. You avoided it it completely. Don’t lie . You are not the only virtue signaller who would sacrifice anything for a net zero, diverse fantasy land as long as it’s not you doing the sacrificing . I don’t tell anyone who will listen that I care . I don’t use the Marie Antoinette method of blowing smoke up my own arse. Look in a mirror.

You however have not answered a single point. You are a man with no morals who cares not a jot for children in DRC other than as a stick to beat Eco enthusiasts with. A hypocrite who wont answer questions and hides behind petty insults. An empty vessel.

That’s a lie You associate slavery with resources needed for EVs yet you are the one buying the products of slavery ..and you have the gall to point it at that at me . Talk about lack of self awareness. So don’t stamp your size twos and threaten to tell teacher . I dont pretend to care on the grounds that I have enough money to appear to. Lets not have a contest about who cares the most . 😁 Fracking might make us some good money too. Let’s try it .

I was aware of the situation in DRC long before EV's were ever thought of. You were not, you are just a hypocrite using these poor children to score a cheap hit. Yuk. you are irredeemable. IMO you have nothing to offer and no morals at all. I shall never speak to you again.

You don't need a 3 litre engine EVEN in a 7 seater tank. A 2 litre turbo can now develop enough power for virtually anything now.
Zanygame said: "Apologies I got that number wrong, still its not tons is it. And you'll have noted it needs a smaller fuel tank because of the battery".
You got ALL your figures wrong zany. And you just keep posting nonsense. Since the 14 kWh battery can only do about 30 miles it will have little effect on the size of the petrol tank you need.
Zanygame said: "Don't know how they come to those figures, presumably its if you don't charge the battery at all. I suppose if you're stupid enough to buy a plugin hybrid and not charge it you might get figures that low, I couldn't tell you because I'm not that stupid. Maybe if you are then its best you stay with petrol."
Aaargh!. Of course it's a calculation of what the mpg is if the electric power isn't used. If you charge the battery religiously before every trip and you do only 30 miles or less (and use only electric power) you will of course get infinite mpg. But that's not a true reflection of the efficiency is it zany? As I've said there's little difference in cost of running the car on electric power or petrol power. All you're doing is regarding the electric power as free - which it's not.
I'm sorry zany but you really don't understand this stuff. The hybrid seems to confuse everyone - who doesn't understand what's going on. Having two fuel sources is a recipe for confusion and the manufacturers are milking it. The mpg figures quoted for your car are huge - but they're bollocks. Your car does about 35mpg in normal driving on petrol power alone. If you run it on electric power the electricity will cost you pretty much the same as the petrol would have cost. There are no free lunches - it's still a 2.5 ton tank with the aerodynamics of a brick so its mpg will be very poor.
I know you don't understand this but it's a fact.

You can chase your tail all day, but I have a hybrid. I showed you my dashboard with the MPG. I do get 167mpg because most of my journeys are less than 30 miles and I like everyone else I know charge my car every night. Why wouldn't I it takes 20 seconds to plug it in and gives me a free gallon of petrol. £9 quid every night. 4 grand a year. I'm quite glad you don't believe any of the numbers, it means that you wont get the dividends until long after everyone else has taken them for granted. So you carry on

You can chase your tail all day, but I have a hybrid. You do realise that hybrids are going to be banned at the same time as ICE cars - they are an irrelevant step into the future

So you carry on I know I've pulled you up for some rubbish maths in the past, but on this point I have no contention. You are quite right to produce your own results based on your own real world usage which works out effectively at 167mpg. You still factor in the cost of electricity, but Steppenwolf is ignoring your own personal circumstances. He might think he is right in some other cases where usage is different, but in this case, he's wrong, IMO. Zany is right.

I'm hoping they might change their minds and allow certain ones. Something like a minimum distance of 50 miles on pure electric, but who knows. Anyway, in the meantime I shall enjoy y gorgeous car with its fabulous acceleration and brilliant MPG.
