and the bad news keeps coming...... European EV Scepticism Could Derail Massive Sales Targets
Europeans are cooling to the charms of electric vehicles as unexpected disadvantages drown out noisy hyperbole from EV evangelists.
EV sales are expected to return to the fast lane by 2025. That’s not a surprise because the EU plans to eliminate the internal combustion engine competition with ever-tightening curbs on carbon dioxide, culminating in a complete ICE ban by 2035.
Meanwhile, the current weakness in EV sales wasn’t helped by Germany’s decision to end subsidies on December 18. Germany is Europe’s biggest market with about 25% of sales.
Potential buyers are finding that many of the promised benefits of buying an EV don’t make it into the real world. A big cut in prices might convince them. Experts reckon EV sales will more than quadruple by 2030. Calling that a revolutionary goal seems an understatement.

Anyone who claims that EV's are the future is lying... Mr Welbourne added he had seen at least 10 of the vehicles, which cost upwards of $38,990 (£30,841) a piece, being towed away after their batteries died.
Fellow owner Tyler Beard told Fox 32 that his car battery had remained on 0 per cent despite trying to charge it for three hours for two days in succession.
“This is crazy. It’s a disaster,” Chalis Mizelle, told the same outlet, before abandoning her car and hitching a ride with a friend.

If BEVs ever got popular in the UK all the roads in the country would be blocked by stranded BEVs with flat batteries at the first cold snap.

Chinese brands will launch a price war and will capture a sixth of the UK electric car market by 2030, according to Auto Trader. Chinese brands have the pricing power from their low-cost manufacturing bases to change the market amid the so-called ZEV mandate, the government’s new regulation now in force that requires all manufacturers to sell at least 22 per cent of their cars this year as zero-emission vehicles or face financial penalties.

The more we scratch the surface of net zero , the worse things look underneath. You can find a lot of this stuff on net zero watch on twitter if you are on twitter. much of which never makes it into mainstream news.

Purchase price isn't everything. For example, there are perfectly good and reliable wristwatches for a tenner, but people spend £50, £100, £500 and even thousands to own particular brands and/or technologies...

And there are perfecty good ICE vehicles out there that are faf far cheaper than EV's and there is no que to fill them up at the pumps.

The CPC saw the way the market was going to go years ago, so the whole of China geared up to automotive production, like I even saw it some years ago with Chinese chip makers. Between them they have all the manufacturers to make the various parts and all the industry to supply them as well. It's called vertical integration.
