You're just making it up now. There have been plenty of multicar fires long before EV's came along. Petrol fires spread because the tank leaks or explodes and allows burning fuel to flow to nearby vehicles. These EV bikes need regulating. But I must say if I had one and couldn't keep it outside, I would buy a safe and charge the battery inside that. I agree. most modern laptop and phone chargers communicate with each other to check they are compatible. That should be a bare minimum on the powerful battery you get on an E-Bike or scooter. Sorry, just agreed with you above before I read this paragraph. I completely agree.

Petrol isn't an explosive and diesel won't catch fire even if you throw lit matches at it. Diesel works with compression. An EV is a time bomb, because of the chemicals used. It's a chemical fire that cannot be put out with conventional means.

Quite, diesel has a much higher flash point than petrol and is therefor much safer than both petrol and electric.

Like I stated I know what one my money is on. It was very unlikely to be a diesel vehicle that started this. Out of all the ICE vehicles petrol would be the most volatile. EV's have a history of bursting into flames. More likely petrol as diesel needs to get very hot to burn. You can't see the make of vehicle from the video, but you can surely see where its parked, so I suspect the fire service know what it was. Did you see someone has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. The FB stated that it COULD be a diesel vehicle. And as for the witnes who made the video they would not have been able to get close enough to truly state it was an ICE.

When I was employed in aviation we had demostrations of vehicle fires. And the most dangerous component according to them is the prop shaft as they are a sealed tube which explodes due to pressure from heat.

But put 2 and 2 together and you get a video of the car in its parking space and a fire brigade that have been there. So its probably an EV on a different floor.

Have you explaned that to the bumburgh followers. No, I don't need to, none of them have any desire to drive a ticking time bomb. Most just have EV's

Yes ticking expenive timebombs. The ignorant have always feared technology. This seems rather general to me, especially when we're talking about something very specific. I can only conclude that you don't have anything worth adding.

Sorry, just agreed with you above before I read this paragraph. I completely agree. Maybe you'd like to give me an example of another fire that destroyed a multi-storey car park and every car in it? I can't think of one. And the exact car that started the Luton airport fire isn't really relevant - although I find it very strange that the fire brigade don't know what car started it when it's essential information when you're trying to put a fire out. There were certainly many electric cars in the car park and it's almost certainly these cars that led to the severity of the fire. It's also odd that the FB are wittering on about sprinklers when these are completely useless in the case of EV fires. It's also odd that you seem to accept that e-bike batteries are potentially dangerous but you seem happy to drive a car that has a far larger battery in it and you charge it overnight at home. You're crazy.
