I know I am opening a can of worms here and will get no sensible comments but I am going to give it a go.
I hear the left is this and the left is that but never any sensible reasons for disliking them.
Typical.
The left spends other peoples money - and so do all political parties.
The left are champagne socialists - the left has no problem with some amongst them being well off.
The left are woke - we are all woke to one degree or another, so what?
The left want to defund the police - they don't.
The left are in the pockets of the unions - the unions are made up of working people.
The left support BLM - they do they believe all lives matter.
The left call out things like food bank use - they do but why doesn't everyone?
Just a few.

Labour’s hypocrisy on racism is itself deeply racist
The most maddening aspect of watching the party leadership ignore the Forde report is the frenzied zeal with which the same clique pursued the anti-semitism scandal — all for factional purposes, not justice
MONTHS after the damning Forde report was published, it takes the author having to appear on an Al Jazeera programme for the Labour Party to bother giving even the half-hearted, pathetic response that it has.
The mealy-mouthed words from the leader and general secretary of the party make no firm commitment to deal with
the deep-seated anti-black racism and Islamophobia that infect the party when this is exactly what is required.
The fact is Labour is the epitome of institutional racism — but it is still very happy to rely on the black vote to get it elected in countless seats throughout the country.
As Forde showed, anti-black racism and Islamophobia are not treated as seriously as the evil of anti-semitism. For genuine anti-racists, there can never be a hierarchy of oppression.
Shame on Labour for not owning up to this and then showing what they intend to do about it.

Most "working" people are not in a trade union. The trade unions represent those in the Civil Service, school teachers, the NHS, railway staff and so on, most people who work for small independent organizations, or people who work for themselves under IR35 do not wish to be part of a union.
The days of unions being necessary are long gone, health and safety regulations, working times directive and so on make unions superfluous, they are only there to push a marxist agenda, make outrageous pay demands (currently 35% for doctors) and exert anti tory pressures where they can. We don't need unions, and proper "working" people realise that.
Ever since Mrs Thatcher "working" people increasingly vote Tory because they are/were better off under a Conservative Government, but less so these days.

I agree but all union members are working or retired people. The question was what is wrong with the left, opinions on where the unions are right or wrong to strike for better pay and conditions is not the point. You harp on about Marxism, so I imagine that your point there is that the left are Marxists?

For me the reason people dislike the left is because more often than not they are trying to force their politic upon us in every nook and cranny as opposed to the right whose politic is generally smaller with less interference
The left is about committees and independent inquiries ,the nanny state and what you can't do rather than what you can .
There's no difference between communism and socialism except one is imposed on you and you vote for the other , look at it as the difference between murder and suicide , the result is the same

They are all shades of the same left-wing authoritarian shit.
I'm a classical liberal - I believe in the small state and minimal interference.
The left are the antithesis of that.

You are a classic distorter of the truth, the Left is the concerned side of politics in a society (I consider myself to be Center-Left). If politics gave the supposed simple freedoms that are being suggested, the right, where true Fascism and Nazism fester, would soon show people that their true freedom does not lie in the hands of the money-power that dominates the Political Right.

Left Support the myth of a patriarchy Support the lie of white privilege. Support racism against white people. Support white collective guilt . Support delusional sexual identities . Import US race issues . Support high immigration . That’s a start …

I'm not keen on Unions but there is no doubt in my mind that many working people do need some organisation behind them to both defend their present position and to advance them in times of need. I can't stand Union Leaders who what to impose political change. But working people do need legal backup in the same way that many professional workers do. Mrs. Thatcher had unemployment at one time up 4million, that meant that thousands of small businesses and many not so small had crashed. Over 3million children living in relative poverty, and the majority of state school children in under financed schools. And that is just the tip of the iceberg of the things she got wrong.
