The Tories keep listening to big business who want cheap labour - the Labour Party don't care about low wages they want mass immigration to "rub the Right's nose in diversity" So whichever crowd get in the average man in the street is fucked. So why do people support them if they don't represent their views. Why do people claim the man in the street supports them? I have no idea why the working man votes for Labour or the Tory's - they both fuck him. I suspect that it is due to the electoral system that blocks alternative options. What is your opinion - or are you lacking one?

Because fptp makes the parties that we actually want unelectable. That's why I reluctantly support PR these days. You mean the party you support is not that popular? FWIW, I support PR too. Well UKIP were not popular under FPTP - but at the same time under PR they were the most popular Party. So what Party do you have in mind?

Yes, that's why they are crippling the poor working man with ULEZ and 20 mph zones, so they can rake in as much green taxes and fines as they can.

Neither is it a Labour policy. Things that effect the poor most are cuts to free services and a non progressive tax system. Oh, and most of all housing shortages and high interest rates Those very things that coincidentally help the rich most.

Create one problem out of nothing, then relentlessly use it as leverage to force complete control, dismantling of democracy and the suppression of opposition.

Its about restricting the number of new houses being built. 13 Years! Of Tories got Brexit and we switched to bringing in Migrants from the rest of the world. If you want to bring migrants in then build enough homes its not complicated.

Looking after the Working Man, or working class, which I prefer to call "ordinary people" is not just about the economy, public services or housing.
It has as much to do with a regulated society, or a society where The Free Market and Capitalism is regulated in order to PROTECT people, protect workers, protect the vulnerable, the sick, the low paid, the consumor and disabled etc etc.
The Tories have a terrible track record on regulation, the last Labour government restored many workers rights taken away by Margaret Thatcher and John Major.
The Tories are oppossed to regulation, the Tories ( aided by the Lib Dems ) took away more Employee Rights after their 2010 victory, they took away the right of any employee to apply for Unfair Dissmisal unless they had worked for an employer for 2 years.
The principle difference between The Tories and Labour is that Labour advocates MORAL Capitalism, where as the Tories just believe in a "Free For All", unregulated, sink or swim.

Apparently we have enough unemployed to fill any job vacancies, so we don't need economic migrants, never mind illegal ones.
We don't want Labour turning our beautiful greenbelt countryside in to concrete jungles so they can house their future voters, don't you think it's ironic and double standard hypocrisy that Labour are bringing in ULEZ green taxes to save the planet, while in the next breath cutting down tens of thousands of trees, destroying green spaces, to make way for concrete jungles that will destroy environments ........ yeah typical Labour.

In all fairness Sid as a Labour supporter and a business man. The scariest thing I face is getting rid of someone who's no good, so I'm glad I get two years to find out.

Most threads on here as they come to an end switch to who is far left and far right. So I thought, lets try and define what people want from their left or right wing governments. Not the extremes of fascist or communist In particular have we had too many centre ground governments trying to please everyone and failing to please anyone? That thought came off the back of something I've seen several on here say, but particularly Pacifico who just said (I paraphrase) "Name one Tory thing the Conservatives have done in the last 13 years" Basically is the reason the country is not flying high due to a lack of courage from either side? The difference between Ed Milliband’s labour and Cameron’s Tories was £100,000 in inheritance tax thresholds. We have not seen a real tory since 1992
