Not sure about white history month..it would take a whole year . Africans did take part in the slave trade . Slavery was a shit life , so was life in the mines and factories here. War in Christmas ? There is no Christmas . It’s Santa and piss up day. Move along now ….

Slavery was a shit life , so was life in the mines and factories here. I'd forgotten about the charming tradition of "creating a false equivalence between slavery and the contemporary working class". Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks for reminding me. I apologise . I miss read the post. The equivalence is not false . Chattel Slavery gives you the top trump card but working class during the time of US slavery was an oppressed people that gained nothing from the slavery across the Atlantic . The left love to allude to all of the people in Britain living off the proceeds of the slavery . It’s a lie.

Thanks for reminding me. The contemporary working class did indeed have a shit life, in fact in living memory going into service was a bond which was difficult to break and had many restrictions placed on it as regards what we now consider freedoms. It may not have been called slavery but for many the factory owner was akin to God with indirectly the power of life and death over his workers and in many cases tied houses were entered at any time of day and night to ensure the proper continuance of a worthwhile and productive life. Kiddies up chimneys and working down mines for 14 hours may not be slavery but it is a narrow divide. They of course had choice, for many it was work or starve and starve is what some did. This was well after slavery was abolished throughout the Empire.

Most of our Christmas traditions are culturally appropriated anyway. Christmas trees, mistletoe, Yule logs, holly and ivy. All appropriated from pagan celebrations. Plus some fat bloke in red from a Coke advert. Even the date of 25th of December was invented to coincide with the winter solstice. So tell me, what is Christian about Christmas anyway? Or Easter, for that matter. Both just fake festivals for a fake religion.

I'm dreaming of a black Christmas, With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmas' be white. Well, it might catch on!

Shocking news today. A new survey has revealed that more than half of British adults cannot name any black historical figures and only 7% can name more than four. The survey was conducted by YouGov for Bloomsbury Publishing.
Shouldn't something be done about this?

'My neck of the woods'! I wouldn't describe Burton upon Trent as 'my' neck of the woods. I don't think I've ever been there, although at 35 or maybe 40 miles away I suppose it could be described as relitively close. I would dearly love to know what huge contribution the African-Caribbean community have made in Burton upon Trent or indeed to East Staffordshire. As I said, this is nothing more than blatant virtue signalling nonsense. Woke types who promote this rubbish are the sort of weak and feeble people who insist the Emperor was finely clothed. Black people helped to defend us against the Nazis, and many helped to rebuild our economy and our infrastructure after the war. well tgey had far more reason to want to after all. Speaking as a six foot three blonde blue eyed aryan i see no particular threat from the nazi movement. Quite the opposite in fact.

The moment YouGov was mentioned it all went south, they wouldn't know a honest survey if they did one on it.

In other news, the black plaque installed by the BBC in East Sussex commemorating the 'first black Briton ' has been quietly removed. It turns out that further DNA tests now show that 'Beachy Head Woman' is not of sub-Saharan ancestry as trumpeted by 'Professor' David Olusoga in his much-praised BBC doco 'Black and British: a Forgotten History' but rather southern European, probably from Cyprus. Ah well, you can't win them all eh.[/a]

If, as sources indicate, black people have been in the British Isles for centuries and have been part of our nation's history why would anyone have a problem with anyone saying so?
