Thanks for clarifying you wouldn't get away with that now, the woke snowflakes wouldn't allow it, those films are older than the hills, times have changed, well spotted. A Mighty Heart starring Angelina Jolie is more recent. "The announcement of the casting of Angelina Jolie in the role of Mariane Pearl drew criticism within the African-American community.[22] Orville Lloyd Douglas, a pop critic, has criticized the casting[23] because, he said, "Jolie is white" and Mariane Pearl is "mixed race"; Pearl is the multiracial daughter of an Afro-Chinese-Cuban mother and a Dutch Jewish father." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Mighty_Heart_(film)Jolie is mixed race, her father is Jon Voight, they are a mixture of German/Slovakian and other, so I don't know what your point is, I very much doubt she would classify herself as a white American.

Well according to the department of education: "October is Black History Month in the UK and a time to celebrate the contribution Black communities and individuals have made over the centuries in shaping the dynamic and diverse country we have today. It is also about raising awareness of the contribution Black people have made to our freedoms, culture and society. From Roman times onwards, Black people have been an integral part of Britain, and the National Curriculum supports teaching about their contribution. One of the key aims of the history curriculum is to know and understand the history of these islands as a coherent, chronological narrative, from the earliest times to the present day. This includes how people’s lives have shaped this nation and how Britain has influenced and been influenced by the wider world, which helps build an understanding of a shared British history." Seems fair enough to me. What contributions have black communities made over the CENTURIES in shaping a dynamic country we have today ? What contributions have black people made to our FREEDOMS , culture and society ? How have black people been an integral part of Britain since Roman times ? You haven’t posted what people who know about the subject know what you don’t know ,at all. You have posted a series of unsupported claims . Well I'm assuming that's what is covered in black history month.

But if it is indeed your view it would be fair to say that you were referring to people who agree with you wouldn't it? No but it would be fair to say that you didn’t understand or chose to misinterpret the post . So you don't consider yourself sensible then?

So you are assuming that black history month would be a series of unsupported claims and at the same time claim that you see no reason not to have it ? No I'm assuming it's an exploration of black history and the role of black people in history. I honestly cannot fathom what possible harm could come from teaching kids about Mary Seacole as well as Florence Nightingale. Can you?

I wonder if Africa have a 'White history month', I would imagine they would think it pretty pointless seen as they are a predominantly black country, with black cultures and black roots, not many white people are going to spring to mind as being part of their culture or history.
I suppose the same could be said what is the point of a 'Black history month', in a country that 'was' predominantly white, with white cultures and values, not many black people are going to spring to mind as being part of our culture or history.
So it's pretty fruitless.

Quite possibly, like I said I'm autistic and misunderstandings are commonplace for me. But it honestly seemed to me that you were describing people who shared your exact view. If you weren't then fair enough.

If most people in Britain aren't aware of black historical figures does that not strengthen the argument in favour of black history month?

Well at least we haven't accused every black historical figure and their 'families' of being racists.
Nearly every White historical figure have been branded racists, and their families, including the Royal family, of course every historical black figure was squeaky clean.
Black children are being taught that every White historical figure were racist enslavers, and that teaching should be Banned, it's out-and-out full blow racist.

You posted unsupported claims from people who you claimed knew what you didn’t know . I pointed them out and asked you to support them. Christ , this is like trying to swim in treacle 🙄
