"Democracy only lasts a few years" You are the epitome of the 1920's Nazi, if only you could see it. For god sake rather than rubbishing history, try reading it. We change our government every 5 years and sometimes less but never more except in extreme circumstances. yeah blair tried to change that too didnβt he

Only a true dimwit would compare a once in a lifetime direct democratic vote to a GE. Brexit is a long term commitment that could take many years to work out, which is obviously a lot to ask from some BLM Marxists in the Labour party. Don't talk daft, Brexit means tariffs on our borders coming in and leaving the country, dead simple. If you have a 'sensible' comment other than it will be great in 20 or 30 years please elucidate. Democracy is about the 'will of the people' we keep getting told but how do we know what the true will of the people if we never get to aske the people, just like we do in a GE. You know, as well as I do, that things change and from all the poling peoples view of Brexit has changed. The people were asked. Obviously you prefer democracy to only work for the political classes in London and the fascists you answer to. This would explain why you hold contradictory views.

Rattled Keir Starmer flounders in tense Brexit clash over Labour's EUSSR sell-out frustrated Sir Keir Starmer has been forced to defend his latest remarks on Britain's future relationship with the EUSSR if he wins power next year. Yesterday afternoon Sky News revealed a clip of Sir Keir speaking in Canada at the weekend, in which he admitted he doesn't want to diverge from EUSSR rules, laws and standards - one of the key Brexit benefits. His latest comments stand in stark contrast to a speech he gave last year, in which he said: "We can use our flexibility outside the EUSSR to ensure that British regulations are adapted to UK needs." The Tories immediately leapt on the comment as an example of another flip-flop by an avowed Remainer. Michael Gove said his comments had "shown the real Keir Starmer", adding: "He wants to return us to the EUSSR effectively and he wants to rerun the Brexit agonies of the past."

And when I made that stament I never mentioned anyones name but you seem to know what I was implying strange in deed. And as for me calling the EU the EUSSR its a fitting name for a dictatorship. I did not mentioning any names but you took it personal. Not a very good look for you to wear is it?

Oh man, for goodness sake it's called 'democracy'. Democracy is when a government is voted for by the majority. Lefties tend to criticise it because the majority tend to be more sensible than to vote for left wing parties which is why Starmer wants to extend the vote to children. In 1992 John (The Bastard) Major handed us to the EU without a referendum, how long in your opinion should that decision have lasted? Going back to 1992 is a pointless exercise. You are the one putting an everlasting time period on votes. 1975 United Kingdom European Communities membership referendum Choice Votes % Remain 17,378,581 67.23 Leave 8,470,073 32.77 You utter pillock. The question asked of the electorate in the 1975 referendum was - do we wish to remain in or leave the common market (EEC) which was a non political trade bloc. However, moving on 17 years... In 1992 we were handed to the EU without a referendum because John (The Bastard) Major knew damned well that the majority of the electorate did not want to join a very centralised very political union complete with unelected president, unelected executive, court, anthem, flag and currency which is why refused the electorate a referendum. Why are remainiacs so bloody clueless?
