So normal investment taxation that applies to every other business Fuel taxation is one of the largest revenue earners for the Government - a subsidy it is not.. Again - normal taxation on investment. Are you suggesting that capital investment should not be treated favorably under taxation law? Of course these taxation refliefs are vastly outweighed (like petrol) by the amount of tax revenue the government receives. The only energy sector that gets any subsidy are rewewables. That's not the point they are subsidised just like the private railways. You obviously read things in tinted glasses. Then using your rather bizarre definition, every business, company and self employed individual is also subsidised.. madness..

I see you wont answer my other point about 'who is going to pay'?

'Going green' is going to cost an extra £50 Billion a year at least. Now who pays is simple - the same people who pay for everything now. The relevant question is whether that extra £50 Billion is money worth spending. When global warming reaches a certain point it will be impossible for us to stop it, that point is not far away. Our children and grandchildren will pay the true price of global warming and we will be responsible for killing them.Even if 'we' have to pay £50b a year, which is not true, it will be true investment in our kids future and a legacy that future generations will thank us for. When we have a global tragedy approaching cost should not be a barrier. On your own, flawed, figure of £50b a year. That's three years of HS2. Two years of Tory waste on the pandemic. Six months of Johnson waste on vanity schemes. Six months on 'planning stupidity'. Two years on 'lost' tax revenue. That's at least 8 years where 'going green' would cost net zero if the Tories get out of the way, that's without big business investment similar to oil and gas giants. The money is there but it is 'wasted' by greed. Us? Who is us,you never answer why the UK who contribute almost nothing to carbon emissions can do anything unless of course you decide to invade India,China and the USA. So go on then when do we invade?

I have answered this point, many, many times. While the west was spending a hundred years spewing out CO2 into the atmosphere the East was carbon neutral. We contributed millions of tons to the global emergency but now criticise others for doing the same. We should be 'helping' them go green.

I’m not criticising them, they’re doing what they think best for them as to helping them go green they are lifting themselves out of the crap and want a better life. Try patronising them and they’ll laugh or tell you to do one,it really is poor to start blaming us for what happened so the the script is it’s our fault for the Industrial Revolution and now we produce almost nothing the script goes it’s still our fault for buying off the Chinese etc. So please enlighten us on how we help the Chinese go green, perhaps we should send some just stop oil protestors to hold up the traffic or the people’s army, they’ll go down a storm. Well they’ll go down probably felled by a bullet.

It's simple really, we should use our new found freedom and really invest in green technologies and sell it around the world.

China Which green technology do you have in mind? China builds and sells stuff as cheaply as it can for the greatest profit and if that involves using coal they do. Meanwhile the green goons here have a hissy fit over opening a coal mine and the brilliant solution is import it. The propaganda is relentless, stop using your car,eat insects, you consume too much energy and cities can’t cope with you so we have to stop your travel there’s far too many of you,the same people then go on to say we need to let migrants in you are racist and a nazi for objecting. Saw a brilliant piece on money invested in railway equipment to combat leaves on the line another step to combat climate change or autumn as the rest of us call it.

I see you wont answer my other point about 'who is going to pay'? The EU CAP subsidises billionaire landowners. Many a Europhile wants to replicate the arrangement.

So what is this wondrous green technology? See above. Do you own a smartphone? Right so we established that the Chinese already make these and are happy to use coal to produce the energy required in making them and other things. Nowhow are we helping the Chinese in that respect?
