Any island that doesn't make security work is not really trying.. I'm sure you could protect our 19,000 miles of coast. Dads army Would we need to ? How far can those dinghy’s travel? Just how practical is it to land trafficked people on the West coast , Scotland etc?

Kindly explain how creating UNHCR-style camps for asylum seekers is 'inhuman'. And ditto why treating claims as other European countries do is likewise. One aspect of that is of course is abolishing legal aid for asylum cases. But that only means that the myriad charities and NGOs that concern themselves with 'migrants rights' will need to take up the slack. That leaves the field open for sympathisers like your goodself to do your bit. I think the clue is here, "fund the Border Agency to erect temporary camps in remote wild and windy places" No different to wartime measures to accommodate the several million men called up to military service, and retained during the national service era.
I spent most of my childhood in such places, RAF Bridgnorth being one in particular that comes to mind. There are dozens if not hundreds of such places where the basic infrastructure is still largely intact and where the land is still available for Bridgnorth-style wooden huts. Nearly two million servicemen and women passed through Bridgnorth between 1939 and 1965. If it was good enough for our fathers and grandfathers why is it not good enough for asylum seekers?

BIG differences. 1, You could leave anytime to another safe place. 2, It was not a life sentence.

Australia did it quite successfully - as I said, you just don't wan't to try.. Britain is not Australia. Different coast line, different populated areas, different distances to other countries. It's an island in the middle of the ocean - people turning up on these shores don't just materialise. In fact currently the government are providing a taxi service from foreign territorial waters - they, like you, simply do not want to try.
