With the exception of young women with kids the majority of the rest, who are economic migrants should be sent back not to Europe yet Africa or Asia. Except there will be another mass amnesty. Which is always the final answer, until we end up like Germany.

No ... This is all like a mirror image of 1996 when our neighbours ( The EU ) looked forward to a having a British Prime Minister that would actually work with them and co-operate together, as opposed to a British Primeminister from a political party torn apart by divisions over Europe. If we are to stop the boats, stop people trafickers, then we have to work with France and the EU in all good faith, without all the poisonous Daily Mail xenophobic rhetoric, or entering into a blame game. The EU are bullies, and they want a Prime Minister they can bully, they didn't get far with Johnson, and Truss didn't suffer fools gladly, now we've got Sunak as weak as gnat's piss, and as for Starmer he's just a push over when it comes to the EU, the obedient nodding dog.
The EU have got themselves tied up with the migrant crisis they helped make, now they want the UK to be their dumping ground, only a absolute idiotic fool would not realise the EU are using and abusing us.

Here is what commentators think about Starmer and his ill thought out scheme of the moment, the current shower are pretty hopeless, but just imagine the absolute disintegration of our society if these marxist incompetents get anywhere near power.

Sid this is the deal on offer.
EU ... take our influx of migrants/asylum seekers from Italy, Greece and other places
In return we'll help with the illegal dinghy crossings.
So it's blackmail, if you don't take our migrants we wont help you with the dinghy people
LOL ... and you think that's 'co-operation' and a deal ... it's out and out blackmail.
The UK have spent 46 years with these control freaks, and they're not done with us yet

And they always have. That's what Brexit was about.
Is Starmer really that stupid? Actually, don't answer - he's a lefty, of course he bloody well is.

This problem was created by David Cameron and Teressa May who slashed the numbers of immigration officers and slashed the Border Force budget, the problem grew worse under Bumbling Boris, and even more worse under Sunak.
The EU have got themselves tied up with the migrant crisis they helped make, now they want the UK to be their dumping ground, only a absolute idiotic fool would not realise the EU are using and abusing us.
A load of nonsense, for a start-off most of the migrants do not want to come to the UK, but for those that do, how is that Europes fault. ?

What happens if come the general election yours is not the majority opinion? And how is that to be measured? Counting votes. I think my point is that Fairsociety believes that his opinion is always the majority opinion. I'm just trying to get him to think what if that isn't true? We'll find out either way next year.

Migrants don't just come to Europe, but also other major nations like the US, Canada, Australia, NZ etc. The world is getting smaller. Even if the EU didn't exist it would be exactly the same.

If Labour are elected (a big if in itself) it will be on the basis of approx 35% of the vote which is hardly evidence of a "Majority" opinion.
In fact, the last time that we had a definitive "Majority" opinion on anything was the Brexit referendum.

I can't recall any dinghies crossing from the US, Canada, Austria, NZ by dinghy, which is what we are on about, we know France could stop the dinghy crossings, but they are in cahoots with the EU, they want to offload as many migrants as they can to the UK.

For those who supposedly do not want to be in the UK they sure make a bloody good impression of the opposite. It seems they don't want to be in the EUSSR either.

Well be fair Andrew isn’t the point that the votes were counted in a referendum and from the night of the result the main parties and the civil service have done their damndest to thwart that, whether you agree with that result or not it should’ve been respected and never was. So why would you expect anyone to respect a general election result where the idea it would be a majority vote is pie in the sky, when did that last happen?

I think that we're mostly in agreement (Although I don't really buy into this "civil service are trying to thwart Brexit" line) and indeed 2019 BoJo minority vote win has been rammed down the throats of the majority who didn't vote for him. I agree that if Labour win next year, it wouldn't be a majority vote. Tyranny of the minority.

Like it or not though the 2016 referendum was a more democratic vote than any GE for a long long time.
