The only way to solve the crisis is work with, and co-operate with the European Union, and that is precisely what Starmer will do if he becomes Primeminister.
Whatever plan Labour comes up with, it has to be better than the current shambles, whereby the numbers of asylum claimants are just getting bigger and bigger, and the processing seems to get slower due to cuts and understaffing of our Immigration & Border Force.
The asylum seekers already in Europe are not going to go anywhere - and to suggest that European nations should agree to each take a quota is a fair solution, in return for the UK been able to participate in something along the lines of The Dublin Agreement.
What are the Tories suggesting ? ... more of the same ?

And what do you think the tories are doing? Why are we paying the French to stop this madness? And even the Germans and Italy along with Sweden stated enough is enough....Let Germany take them Merkel was the one who started this fiasco FFS.

He is consulting with the UK people, that's what an election is about. He is asking the people about migrant deals with the EU. Above his station, what does that even mean, he's going for the top job and can be democratically elected or not. Do you want a referendum? Well he hasn't asked me, and if he does I'll tell him to fuck off along with his EU buddies. What happens if come the general election yours is not the majority opinion?

I note with interest that Starmers proposals have been generally welcomed by EU leaders, and also that President Marcon has seemingly broken with protocol and invited the leader of the oppositin to talks at The Elysee Palace.
All good, signs that we have a realistic leader in waiting, who can come up with realistic answers to solving problems that the Tories are obviously incapable of solving.

So you agree with Starmer then? No I don't agree with starmer. He is selling us out...And as for saying people smuggling is terroism has he consulted corby the friend of the terrorist yet? So you don't think 'smashing' the criminal gangs that trade in human misery will help solve the crisis of small boats? How is he selling us out by trying to solve a problem started by the Tory fuelled racism. Is it the boats or the people you object to? Do you not think asylum seekers should be allowed to seek refuge in this country? Do you think Ukrainian asylum seekers should be sent to Rwanda?

Hopefully, Sir Keirs proposals in this area will be widely proclaimed at the next general election.
It should be sufficient to see Labour consigned to the dustbin.

I suppose that there are people who said that about Lord Halifax in 1939, they were proved wrong just as you will be if Starmer does stumble blindly into No 10.
The only thing we can be sure about is that he will change his mind by next Monday.

No ... This is all like a mirror image of 1996 when our neighbours ( The EU ) looked forward to a having a British Prime Minister that would actually work with them and co-operate together, as opposed to a British Primeminister from a political party torn apart by divisions over Europe.
If we are to stop the boats, stop people trafickers, then we have to work with France and the EU in all good faith, without all the poisonous Daily Mail xenophobic rhetoric, or entering into a blame game.
