As I said 'junk' food is costing us and the poor more than healthy food, don't you agree? What people spend their money on is everything to do with everyone that pays taxes to support the NHS and if people are being conned into cheap deals that harm their health it should be banned. You are missing the point if you think joggers 'twisting' their ankles is a comparison, they do not twist their ankles because they are 'forced' to by a limited budget. Nobody is 'forcing' people not to eat what they want they are just putting a stop to the practice of food giants and supermarkets selling crap to increase their profits. Make your mind up, in one post you state 'junk food is costing us and the poor more than healthy food'.
Now on this post you've just said 'people are being conned into cheap deals that harm their health'.
It doesn't matter what we eat or drink the 'experts' will say 'could cause cancer', including so called healthy foods, if we listened to them we wouldn't eat or drink, it's freedom of choice, just like freedom of speech, we don't want to be told what we can do or say.
Both statements are compatible. Poor people are being 'forced' to buy cheap junk food which is harming their health, costing them more and costing the country more. The food manufacturers and their outlets are making vast profits for selling crap to the poorest. All food has a risk but food loaded with sugars and salts, junk food, carries more risk.

These are "Interventionist Taxes" that people do not have to pay, which is why they are a good idea, as opposed to taxes that people cannot avoid. It is now over five years since the Sugar Tax was introduced on fizzy drinks with a high sugar content, no mass protests, no manufacturers in revolt, and no political effects. Most manufacturers did not stop producing products, but instead reduced the sugar content to below the Sugar Tax threshold. Such products included Barrs Iron Brew - Robinsons - Britvic - Fruit Shoot - Ribena and Lucozade SUCCESS .... A policy recommended to a Tory government by the medical world, and it has worked So now, bring on similar policies for high fat content, and if the example of the Sugar Tax is anything to go by, it will cause producers and manufacturers to act and reduce fat and salt. yeah. Drop the sugar content and replace it with liver killing artificial sweetners. Bloody brilliant idea that

Perhaps the Labour party could supply you with a bib and tell you what to watch on the telly. After all, you don't seem to mind being controlled and humiliated by Sir Tony Blair. I am happy with someone advising me about the harm some foods are doing to my body, why aren't you? Fascism has its obeying followers. Personally, I have no time for any lying creep who would promote Blair as the regulator over food. Anyone who needs the lying war mongering excrement to organise their menu is obviously deranged.
Just my opinion.

I reckon the Labour are the party of the poor and the more they can produce all the better for them.

never interrupt someone when they are making a mistake b4. This new new labour are that deluded that they seriously believe the uk sees tony as some sort of messiah whose word is his bond , and must be listened to on every subject.
Everytime the guy opens his mouth , starmer must facepalm as new labour drop another point in the polls.

Regulation of food standards is not a fascist policy, it is a common sense one. Good luck with the chlorinated chickens.

Your arguments are based on claims that people are too thick to know that junk food isn't the healthy option. People like you go around telling people how to live their lives. Don't do this, don't think that way, do as I say, not as I do. If left to mindless Blairite followers we'd all be forced to exercise every morning with big brother watching us through compulsory cameras.

Yes we do have food standards which are being eroded under the Tories. Nope, not at all, my point is that businesses are conning the public with their 'junk' food antics and even the mot intelligent of us can be conned. You assume I am doing something which is blatantly not true because you have no real answers.

I have never known anyone who has suggested it was, so I guess your idea of intelligence differs from mine. As for the Tories, what exactly has been eroded? If you mean they're currently not patronising the people and telling them what to eat then good for them. It's better than Blairs army of thicko fascists telling us what to do.

Do you think heroin should be legal as well?

Misrepresentative advertising. Advertising low quality foods and selling cheap bundles of it. I have not seen that sort of advertising but I am sure it would be banned if they tried it. Celebrity advertising.

Bad parenting is a problem but that's a different topic.

It's a tough one. I can only conclude that RedRum believed it to be the healthy option, and when Sir Tony told him it wasn't he went mad and is now pushing collective blame where the rest of us will be charged more for a bag of chips.
