Perhaps the Neanderthals ( the usual Tory Apologists ) believe we should do away with Pedestrian Crossings, allow smoking again in cinemas, public transport, shops, pubs and restaurants.
Maybe these people believe that The Nanny State should stop insisting we wear seat belts in cars, stop giving children inoculations and that Health & Safety is all just red tape.
Its really quite unbelievable that there are these people who wish to stop PROGRESS

Controlling the consumption of junk food would save the NHS billions a year. Healthy foods should be discounted. Take no notice to Blair's claptrap, he wants a tax on sugar salt, mainly effecting the fast food industry that generates ..
In 2022, the market amounted to 21.37 billion British pounds, up from the previous year's total of approximately 19.62 billion.
And Labour want to get their grubby hands on it.
Blair knows the 'poor' will still find the money to buy fast food or junk food, he's peddling his usual tripe that he's worried about obesity and he really 'cares', well he hasn't cared about the thousands of lives lost due to his illegal war in Iraq, .... he's just a fraud.
You write a lot of fiction, you should do it full time.

Perhaps the Labour party could supply you with a bib and tell you what to watch on the telly. After all, you don't seem to mind being controlled and humiliated by Sir Tony Blair. I am happy with someone advising me about the harm some foods are doing to my body, why aren't you?

That is not what the thread is about.Of course it is, Blair is trying to out price 'poor' people from buying fast food, that's why I pointed out he knows the 'poor' people will still find the money to buy it, but it will hit them hardest, Blair trying to pretending he'd put a sugar salt tax on food to save people from obesity... I've just given you 21.37 billion reasons why he really wants it to happen.

What people want to spend their money on is nothing to do with me, or you for that matter.
If they want to spend money on fast food that's their choice, even healthy people who eat nothing but fresh fruit and veg still get ill and use up NHS resources, the joggers are forever twisting their ankles or tripping over kerbs, stop trying to make out that people who eat fast food cost the NHS more money, this is not about choice it's about dictatorship of people's lives.

What people spend their money on is everything to do with everyone that pays taxes to support the NHS and if people are being conned into cheap deals that harm their health it should be banned. You are missing the point if you think joggers 'twisting' their ankles is a comparison, they do not twist their ankles because they are 'forced' to by a limited budget. Nobody is 'forcing' people not to eat what they want they are just putting a stop to the practice of food giants and supermarkets selling crap to increase their profits.

Make your mind up, in one post you state 'junk food is costing us and the poor more than healthy food'.
Now on this post you've just said 'people are being conned into cheap deals that harm their health'.
It doesn't matter what we eat or drink the 'experts' will say 'could cause cancer', including so called healthy foods, if we listened to them we wouldn't eat or drink, it's freedom of choice, just like freedom of speech, we don't want to be told what we can do or say.

Dictatorship involves been told what to do, or to have no choice in a matter. A Sugar Tax means you do have a choice - buy the high sugar content drink with Sugar Tax - OR - buy the drink with lower sugar content without Sugar Tax. You choose whether you want to buy a Beefburger which is 30% fat with a High Fat Tax, or buy the lower fat Burger with no High Fat Tax on it. If you cannot grasp the context of trying to do something about obesity levels, diabetes, heart disease and piling presure onto the NHS, then fair enough, but to people with common sense this is a good idea.
