I bet they find the money for their General Election campaigns .... oh look I've just found £17 million lying around Are you confusing council and Westminster funding with party funding? no confused.com I'm not, do you realize the overuse of your 'confusing'.
The point I was making councils are going bust, people have to foot the bill for their sheer incompetence, fraud, mismanagement, but they will blow millions telling us to 'vote' for them... regardless of where they get the money from, they'll find it to fund themselves.

Thunderpants was the nickname for Mayor Joe Anderson, made up by his own colleagues.

Well yes, because there's no connection between the two. People are of course free to vote for who they like, it they are not happy with their councillors they are free to vote for who they want. You just seemed to be linking party election funding with council budgets, if that wasn't your intention all good.

Handpicked for the role by Keir Smarmer to run the authority says it all. And we thought Sunak was the one to give jobs to his cronies. With Smarmer in Downing Street its going to be a lot lot worse. Smarmer has got all the big calls wrong so far and has he come clean over Gray gate and his time as DPP.

Downing Street has tried to score party political points from Birmingham’s woes by suggesting that fiscal deficiency is intrinsic to the Labour party, which controls the council. It is a lazy attack line that fails to explain why several councils currently or recently run by Conservatives have also issued section 114 notices – the mechanism for seeking emergency help from central government when there is no money left locally.
Government funding to local authorities fell by a staggering 50% in the ten years from when the Conservatives came to power.
Most local authorities have struggled, including Tory run councils
Some have simply ran out of money and gone begging to the government - INCLUDING TORY RUN COUNCILS
Birmingham has followed almost to the letter, the classic bankruptcy formula, namely "gradual, then all of a sudden", its been building for years.

Do you have the same objections to money coming from Russia? EDIT......Labour accused of 'hypocrisy' as Russian-linked donations are questioned...... linkLabour MP Barry Gardiner accepted £425,000 in donations from Chinese spy linkLabour and Just Stop Oil donor Dale Vince taunts his critics by vowing to match all donations made to road-blocking eco-zealots in the next 48 hours amid furious row over his £1.5million support for Keir Starmer's party...... linkAnd just to prove that labour CANNOT be trusted smarmer welshed on the JSO deal... Do you? Or China and JSO?

Do you have the same objections to money coming from Russia? Do you? Or China and JSO? Yes, I totally have an issue with Russian and Chinese money. I don't think that JSO are actually funding, but rather their founder?

And labour know what JSO's ploy is.....And is seems that smarmer has welshed on the deal. But that isn't exactly credible because all could change next week as smarmer only makes the right noises when he judges the publics mood.

Birmingham has followed almost to the letter, the classic bankruptcy formula, namely "gradual, then all of a sudden", its been building for years. Well its been building for years because they have refused to settle the pay discrimination cases that were brought against them and they introduced an IT system that went 5 times over budget. Not sure what either of those have to do with Central Government.
