The UK craves ever closer union with the USA. It has just joined a group of countries half way across the world with the purpose of ever closer union. It doesn’t . And what planet do you come from?

And what planet do you come from? The Earth . You should visit some time . The UK doesn’t want to be EVER closer to any country trading partnership.

The UK is desperately seeking this planet for any new trade deals they can find. Even one which cause harm to itself. I seriously cannot believe even you are trying to make such a stupid remark.

You called me stupid and a liar but you either don’t know what the word ‘ ever’ means or refuse to accept its meaning in your claim. Id say that you were either or both stupid or lying . The Uk doesn’t seek to be EVER closer to the US because eventually that would mean merging politically and/ or economically. Ditto regarding trading partnerships . Maybe Steve will let you borrow his dictionary.

The UK is forEVER going on about its special relationship with the USA, Brexit babbling about an FTA with the place until you were knockzd back. The UK joined the CPTPP with a attempted fanfare but it fizzled out like a wet match. Brexit was awash with all those wonderful new trade deals but three happened, closely followed by their deals with the EU. Now dont even try to pretend the UK doesnt want ever closer relationships with other places. It has been nagging to rejoin Horizon and Copernicus in the EU and was told to sort out NI first. So now you are allowed back into one at the cost of 2 billion. Dont even think of trying to justify that the UK doesnt seek ever closer ties with the ROW. Your own Brexit bullshitters boasted that you could get closer to the ROW outside the EU. It is one thing to exaggerate, select and deliberately twist words. It takes a certain kind of stupidity to lie so openly. Ever closer does NOT mean becoming one. It means ever closer. Your bigoted xenophobic imagination doesnt understand English.

You accuse me of trying to save face then post a load of waffle aimed at saving your own face. Why? Because you posted a ridiculous claim that the UK wanted EVER closer relationships with the US and a trading partnership . You still don’t have the honesty to admit that .EVER .closer relationship would eventually mean a political and economic merger. Something that the UK does not seek with the US and the CPTPP . There comes a time Kim when keep repeating the same lies and obfuscation catches up with you. You reached that point a couple of posts ago. You are just too bitter and twisted to realise it. Keep posting twaddle and I will keep pointing out what ‘ ever closer’ actually means 😉

I'd suspect most of the UK wants the benefits of close trading with convergent countries but not necessarily all the obligations that come with such. It's not a crime to want cake and eat it but it's no basis for a developed society. Always worth remembering that re the EU “Ever closer union” in the Treaties is “among the peoples of Europe”, not among the Member States.

Au contraire,
Where else on the planet do nations have such "obligations" like a customs market, extrnal tariffs, freedom of movement and a politicised union where decisions about issues like these and other issues are not made in said country?
Nowhere.
It seems your "obligations" are an anomaly to the RoW. That isn't wanting cake and eating it, that is what normal independent nations do apart from European ones.
It's the EU that wants it cake and to eat it.
It's the EU the divvy's out the obligations while taking 'ever more sovereignty' and money from member states and telling them what to do.
You've got this arse about face.

You've got this arse about face. Issues like these are made within trade deals. One reason the UK is having trouble with a deal with India is about the movement of peoples. Deals also include data transferrence, military partnerships and exchange of scientific information plus financial aid and investment obligations. I keep telling you 5hat as soon as you make a trade deal you lose your ridiculously rigid purist definition of sovereignty. Except for rogue states, the world works by cooperation and mitual concession.

Does that go both ways? such as the EU trying to convince everyone that really everyone wants to be part of the EU even if they don't. Even using desperate measures such as false polling?

Britain is working and cooperating with the RoW. The EU is the anomally in what it expects nations to cede to it. FACT.

One of the fears of the leavers was that the EU was heading to be a federation and then a federal state . THAT would be an ever closer relationship. We have a bitter ex remainer telling us the UK wants an ‘ ever closer ‘ relationship( ie eventual federal state ) with the US and the CPTPP. Now she is back peddling because she’s made a tit of herself . The UK is seeking the best trade deal it can have with as many countries as it can.
That’s it…..
