Guy Verhofstadt has launched a 116 page plan to expand Brussels' control over EU countries, proving many of the UK's Brexit voting community right. The draft plan proposes a major shift towards majority voting, which would overrule national vetoes. The rule-by-the-majority plan would apply in several areas, including defence, taxation and foreign policy. It would also see the [Unelected] European Commission renamed the 'European Executive', along with a large expansion of parliament's powers. The document, seen by Politico, includes handing total control over environmental and climate matters to the EU central body. It has been signed by Verhofstadt and five other european lawmakers and is expected to be unveiled later this month. In the build up to the Brexit referendum, there were growing concerns over what was seen as a growing EU "dictatorship", with the bloc imposing its laws on the UK. The newest draft signals an even bigger shift towards centralised power, giving the EU powers to bypass individual countries if they object to legislation. www.gbnews.com/politics/eu-news-verhofstadt-brussels-brexitRemainiacs will of course scoff, if a little nervously perhaps, and insist there's nothing wrong with handing more and more power to a small and unelected cabal of bureaucrats who were kicked out of elected office in their respective states, only to surface behind the closed doors of the all powerful and unelected, EU commission. Yes indeed posters, move along nothing to see here...

It would seem the lack of understanding is all yours, to be expected. The 'central body' is the unelected commission, which under Sturmbannführer Verhofstadt's plan will become the official unelected executive. You people are incapable of seeing the big picture because the most important thing for you is trashing anyone who doesn't agree with you. If this wasn't so mad, it would be funny. There's a book called the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. I read it years ago when I went through a phase of reading similar books. What I see in Europe today, the EU constantly giving more power to an unelected inner cabal of unknows, is another version of history repeating itself. Let me tell you something, the EU will never succeed, they're pissing into the wind which is why they need more centralised power. And going for the Balkans is massive overreach. Europe will never unite. Europe is not the United States.

The remoaners regard the EU Commission as the EU's equivalent of our civil service. In fact it's an unelected government (or dictatorship) which determines the direction of the EU and proposes all its laws.

And the members of the council are necessary to propose legislation and any of them can be changed by a national election. So which is the central body?

The remoaners regard the EU Commission as the EU's equivalent of our civil service. In fact it's an unelected government (or dictatorship) which determines the direction of the EU and proposes all its laws. It can only propose what the council asks them to propose in a document they produce called the Strategic Agenda. This is what determines the direction of the EU. The council is the elected heads of the member nations. And the commission can propose till the cows come home. If the parliament and council reject them, they go into the bin.

Commissioners are like ministers in normal governments. They come up with policy. They also apply policy. The civil service of the EU is beneath the Commission it has some 32,000 staff. At the Berlaymont building alone there are three thousand civil servants across 18 levels. The Commission is but 27 people.

Thr council comes up with policy every five years. It is called the Strategic Agenda. www.consilium.europa.eu/en/eu-strategic-agenda-2019-2024/###### The European Council defines the EU's overall political direction and priorities and sets the EU's policy agenda. It usually adopts conclusions during European Council meetings which identify issues of concern and actions to take.Apr 4, 2023 www.consilium.europa.eu › ... How the European Council works - Consilium.europa.eu Vinny is ignorant as to how legislation is formed in the EU.

All he has left is tawdry media outlets like the Express and GB News buying him lunch so they can recount his idiot views to their idiot readers and viewers.

He isnt bothered with the UK anymore. Why should he be? Anymore than be bothered with Chile or Tanzania? I find it fascinating that those who support Brexit still want to talk about the EU and expect to be talked about in the EU. You arent. If you are interested he has been quite busy. www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/97058/GUY_VERHOFSTADT/home

Guy Verhofstadt is an isolated loser nowadays. He's a member of Renew Europe, a bloc with 101 MEPs in the EU Parliament. He's a co founder of the Spinelli Group, an EU federalist initiative. He has more allies than you realise and the treaty change process that is underway right now, is proposing an elimination of vetoes, of unanimity and a change to qualified majority voting. The treaty change process that is underway right now, is a process he is involved with and approves of. www.epc.eu/content/PDF/2023/Constitutional_Reform_DP.pdfIt's early days but their treaty changes should be followed with interest. And those involved should not be dismissed as "isolated losers" especially when we're talking about a former Prime Minister of Belgium here.
