A little kicking the can down the road by the Westminster party as usual, you might think if somebody told you it has a 30-year lifespan you might at least keep it inspected rather than let it fall down.

Was just listening about this on the news. Apparently the NHS did manage to keep on top of it better that the DoE ...

Oh I dont know - its just a matter of priorities. We have £7 Billion a year spent on illegal migrants - £150 Billion spent on HS2 - £50 Billion a year on Net Zero..etc.. There is plenty of money - what you spend it on is the question. You got figures to back that up?

So they've known this for some time, the kids have been off school for 6-7 weeks and now they are about to return it's time to sort it out, me finks the teachers have got use to WFH guzzling wine munching on cheese and biscuits watching Netflix, while raking in £30,000+ a year, whether they turn up for work or WFH. Me thinks the teachers have no effin say in it.

From the article just quoted: "RAAC was used in public buildings from the 1950s until the mid-1990s, but is now assessed to be at risk of collapse." But it's all the fault of New Labour PFI... 🙄 FFS labour new the problems with RAAC and still frigging uses it on their PFI fiasco. And how many buildings were erected under wilson's watch? Labour 1964 to 1970, 1974 to 1976 Bliar... 1997 2001 2005....

They were using RAAC on Labour's pfi projects This is just the top of the iceberg. Nope. They were mostly built between 1960s and 1980s. Nothing to do with PFI. Some people have trouble with years. It's those four digit numbers we used for them

I ignore most of your tripe and yes you'll find that most people are well able to understand four digit numbers so know your bile about Labour using John Majors's PFI post 1997 overlapping with 1950s to late 1990s was just trash.

Crumbly concrete scandal: Now West Suffolk hospital is warned its main building is 'likely' to COLLAPSE - and emergency workers will be poisoned by asbestos as they comb through the rubble Schools, medical centres, police stations and council offices are all affected The crumbly concrete scandal is rumbling into its second week, with West Suffolk Hospital now being warned its main building is 'likely' to collapse. It comes amid fears that the decaying buildings could also contain deadly asbestos, which can cause a number of ailments from asbestosis to lung cancer. This means that emergency workers could be harmed from asbestos exposure - which kills 5,000 people in the UK each year - as they comb through the rubble. A range of public buildings from schools to medical centres, police stations to council offices, have all been affected by the crisis, after being built with unstable reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) between the 1950s and 1980s. As the new school term begins, more than 100 have been told by the Department of Education they will need to remain partially closed after being built, while a further 24 have closed entirely. Hundreds of engineers scrambled to schools yesterday to inspect risky sites. It's thought up to 7,000 pose a threat. The timing of the catastrophe - and the suggestion the Government has known the true scale of the crisis for years - has infuriated parents, with some pupils facing a return to Covid-style online lessons tomorrow. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12476399/Crumbly-concrete-scandal-West-Suffolk-hospital-warned-main-building-likely-COLLAPSE-emergency-workers-poisoned-asbestos-comb-rubble.html

So if Nadine has thought the Sunak government is a zombie government, why has she not stayed in her role and tried to get something done instead of behaving like a spoiled child? COULD IT BE because she had a distorted idea of her own value? That bootlicking really doesnt get you into the house of lords and that you really have to have done something useful over a period of time before you qualify? She sems to me to represent the depths to which government can sink. Ha unconscious humour, the HoL is full of bootl lickers and time servers who’ve done little….except lick boots.
