Only fools think β suffer the children β aludes to children suffering ..we shouldnt suffer fools gladly . Tell that the the school governors who thought the risk of roofs falling on children was nothing to do anything about. If Jesus is one of them Iβll let him know when I say my prayers tonight π

So they've known this for some time, the kids have been off school for 6-7 weeks and now they are about to return it's time to sort it out, me finks the teachers have got use to WFH guzzling wine munching on cheese and biscuits watching Netflix, while raking in Β£30,000+ a year, whether they turn up for work or WFH.

FWIW with over 24,000 schools in England this actually affects less than 0.5% of them.

Fitting metaphor for Tory government...full of air and crumbling before our eyes. I am still waiting for the 40 new hospitals. New homes can now be built without bothering about water pollution. Uncontrolled release of raw sewage into public water facilities. I'd call that a zombie government. Most of these buildings that are crumbling were built under Labour's watch..Do keep up... The Tories have has AT LEAST 14 years to correct it. They have known about it for at least ten.

Why aren't these building insured?
Surely a building that is for public use has to have 'commercial insurance' that would include public liability and building, so why aren't the schools claiming?

Churches, hospitals, schools some of these buildings go back decades and beyond, let's face it there would be no tourist attractions if we had to think about their age and construction methods, the Pyramids can date back 10,000 years ago, still standing, still looking good, given the fact we are now in the 21st Century a crumbly roof on a school should be child's play.... no pun intended btw.

Oh dear.....
Now hospitals could CLOSE due to RAAC scandal: At least 34 NHS buildings, courts, police stations and prisons have unsafe concrete - as teachers set up marquee classrooms and worried parents say they'd rather keep their child at home
More than 100 schools and colleges were told to partially or fully close buildings Is YOUR child's school closing? List of closures as more than 100 schools ordered to fully or partially shut

From the article just quoted:
"RAAC was used in public buildings from the 1950s until the mid-1990s, but is now assessed to be at risk of collapse."
But it's all the fault of New Labour PFI... π

Well to be fair this stuff hasn't done too bad - it was designed to have a 30 year life span and now 60 years later its started falling down..
