There is no legal duty or obligation on the asylum seeker to claim and remain in the first safe country and an asylum seeker who moves on is not breaking the law by doing so or disqualifying themselves from refugee status.
Obviously, he isn't necessarily breaking the law simply by moving on, but he might break the law in doing so. If, for instance, he crosses a border illegally or kidnaps children while 'moving on', he is breaking the law just like anyone else. This belief that these people are protected by some infinite legal coat that allows them breach any border they want to, is amazing. I have to wonder if this notion was set in motion by the soviet union as an operation. |

Fiasco - Is the only appropriate word to describe the Portland Barge debacle
I watched a Conservative councillor from Dorset on Channel 4 News say that the barge could be moored on the Thames, or in Richmond ( Rishi Sunaks constituency ).
Dorset council is blaming the government for the Legionaire cock-up, the government is blaming the Department of Health, and the Department of Health is blaming Dorset Council.
The RIGHT of the Conservative Party seem to be gunning for Suella Braverman ( Yes - The Right ), and former Home Secretary attacks the current Home Secretary ( Suella ) over plans to house asylum seekers in her constituency.
Its like a dog fight - talk about laugh, all we need now is Norman Wisdom or Laurel & Hardy
