So the true answer is whoever it was that said refugees should copy the Ukrainians was talking nonsense. As we all knew.

Why do all roads lead to the UK?
Anyone, anywhere needs easy access to the territory of the UK or something is going wrong?
Isn't that notion kind of abusive to the people of the UK? Do they have no rights over their own territory?

Exactly, and Macron is the cause of it, the UK hating little dictator is encouraging these migrants, he's a enabler, if he stopped this boat service they would stop making the journey across the EU heading for France, surely the French people are fed up of being used as a stopgap to the UK.

I go to all the trouble of providing a link and then you can't be arsed to read it. Tut
Contact UK Visas and Immigration
You can phone the free Ukraine helpline if you need help:
Telephone: + 44 808 164 8810
Telephone: +44 (0)175 390 7510 (if you cannot contact UK 0808 numbers)
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
but that's no good Dan. It's only for Ukrainians. My friend is Sudanese. You didn't say who 'they' referred to when asking "Where do they apply for such a letter?"
Since the discussion had focused only on Ukrainians up to that point why would anyone think you meant anything different?
The perils of disconnected pronouns.

Didn't Britons have a right to life before the ECvHR was invented? Yes we did, and if we ever ditch it it is quite simple the Government of the day can put in place our own one

French people in the Pas de Calais are certainly hopping mad about it but they tend to blame the UK government with its many enticements for economic migrants rather than their own.
French people elsewhere hardly know it is going on. France is a large country.

I can't think what the enticements are now, the word clearly isn't going back that they are basically being dumped, and have less than zero chance even if their asylum claim is accepted, of getting a house, car and loads of benefits, they literally go to the bottom of the chain.

The enticements are many but perhaps the most enticing of them all is the knowledge that once you gain access to the UK the probability of ever being removed is effectively zero.
If your asylum claim is granted, and the chances of that are much higher in the UK than anywhere in the EU, you will receive refugee status for five years after which you can apply for permanent settlement. There is zero chance of you being returned to your home country even if by then it has turned into a land of milk and honey, sweetness and light.

Do they have no rights over their own territory? Thay was never the claim. The claim was that if Ukrainians could do it properly so could the dinghy people. As for all roads leading to the UK that's nonsense as well.

Fine statement but how does it compare to European countries.

As for all roads leading to the UK that's nonsense as well. The uk has agreed to take quotas of Ukrainian refugees. Ukrainian refugees are not breaking international law en-mass to get around that. It's orderly and legal. Where does this notion that random., perhaps unidentifiable, Sudanese people have to get specifically into the UK come from? As far as i'm aware Ukranian people aren't afforded this service.
