The average compensation payment to the victims of the Windrush Scandal appears to have been somewhere between £50,000 to £100,000.* 'The Windrush scandal was a British political scandal that began in 2018 concerning people who were wrongly detained, denied legal rights, threatened with deportation, and in at least 83 cases wrongly deported from the UK by the Home Office.'* Let's go crazy and suppose that the manfrog has been badly wronged. Bearing in mind the amounts paid to the Windrush Scandal victims, how much does Farage deserve for his 'pain'? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the average figure put forward by our valued gammon membership will be something in the region of a squillion quid. If Farage gets a payment of X, should the government reconsider and give the Windrush Scandal victims X x 100? * www.gov.uk/government/news/over-41-million-compensation-offered-to-the-windrush-generation#:~:text=Over%20%C2%A335%20million%20has,%C2%A3100%2C000%20and%20%C2%A3200%2C000 * en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windrush_scandal

Well I got £3,000 20 years ago when my mortgage company sent my payslips and bank details to the house I was buying instead of back to my current address... and all I did was threaten to go to the information commissioner lol.
I think Natwest will be more worried about the fines they are going to receive for breaching data protection laws and the billion quid that has been wiped off their share price lol.
There is the leaking of private information, and then they will have justify why they needed everything in that 30 page report they did on Farage... good luck with that lol.

I think Natwest will be far more worried about fines, too. There's a clear breach of the Data Protection Act, but I don't see that attracting much in the way of substantial damages. I've no idea what your third line is about. It talks about the 'leaking of private information', but you already covered that with your remark about breaching data protection laws in the previous sentence. It ends with a 'lol', so I assume it's a point of some significance.

Windrush was indeed a scandal, there is no way the government should have paid compensation, it's absolutely scandalous. The ungrateful gits weren't forced to come to this country it was their choice. The benevolent British government offered them a chance at a new life in a new country. Then years later they demand compensation! The ungrateful gits should have been deported not given compensation.

If you're representative of a Farage supporter, Coutts will have no difficulty demonstrating in court that they disassociated from him for fear of reputational damage.

Maybe they should give Farage enough to re-open his Coutes account Windrush people have been well compensated for what was their own stupidity The majority of immigrants who came to the UK from the Caribbean were BRITISH PEOPLE before they ever set off to come here, they were born as British people and sang God save the Queen / King. I would say that been compensated with a figure of £50,000 for been told you are no longer British because you cannot produce a passport to prove it, is Peanuts. Then to be arrested, detained and sent to your country of origin, and in many cases a country that they had never been to is something our government should be ashamed of. Why did our government back in the day not issue British subjects from the Caribbean who emigrated here with some official documentation, a certificate of Right Of Abode, a Passport, The whole sordid affair is 100% the fault of this country and the UK government

The statement was ''their own stupidity''. I'm waiting to hear why they were stupid. Were they stupid to think they would be treated fairly by a Conservative government because they were black? I can believe that.

Given the government cant deport criminals who cross the channel, I would have thought in attempting to deport blacks to Jamaica the government were always on a loser.

Antiphrasis is the rhetorical device of saying the opposite of what is actually meant in such a way that it is obvious what the true intention is. Example: "Take your time, we've got all day", meaning "hurry up, we don't have all day".How would antiphrasis be relevant to the above post?

Given the government cant deport criminals who cross the channel, I would have thought in attempting to deport blacks to Jamaica the government were always on a loser. The complete fuck up with Windrush when the first arrivals began in 1948 was Labour's fault they failed to keep accurate records of who arrived both adults and children , those crap records were lost never to be found again. New arrivals landed with no where to live, no job to go to employers refused to hire them, landlords refused to rent accommodation to them, years in the 1971 they were wrongly told they were here illegally , fast forward again due to changes in legislation they were told they needed to apply for British Passports , some of them didn't which again caused confusion about their legal status in the UK.
