It's just the truth. Rich communities don't tend to have much contact with the working class. Call it a sheltered upbringing if you like but do you suppose I should hide it or lie about it. I had no idea who or what a northerner was. Sure we got a few of the bolshy comedians on the TV, but still it was much like watching what goes on in Ethiopia. You'll never be there and don't see it as part of your reality. When I finally arrived at the place I got the shock of my life. The place was a shithole. I recall getting a train from Manchester to Bolton once. It looked like a scene from Blade Runner. I had no idea what a northerner was (Until I went in the army) does that make me posh? You know nothing about people. I've known people from all backgrounds and in the environment we were in everyone was the same there was no posh or poor. With your attitude I doubt you would have survived for more than 20 minutes before someone filled you in. Everyone the same was what we were taught communists did. As a kid I used to be made to feel guilty about not being the same by fascist bitches pretending to be teachers and now I don't.
