Well if the Tories can pull of getting to grips with interest rate rises, cost of living crisis, energy bills, and the illegal migrants, I think Labour could be in trouble, just about the next GE time, if things are looking up for people, they wouldn't want to risk it by putting in a incompetent Labour government. How will the Tories actually stop the boats? How will the Tories reduce interest rates? How will the Tories reduce the cost of living? How will the Tories reduce energy bills? None of these are in the scope of the government.

Well you've just answered your own question to my post.
If you look at my post it said 'if the Tories can pull off'
I also said if they can they could win the next GE, but it's all ifs and buts, if the Tories knew how to solve those issues they wouldn't be issues, would they?
Oh and while you're here, those same questions, can you answer how Labour intent to deal with those ^^ issues?

Opening asylum processing centres in France and process the asylum seekers. How will the Tories reduce interest rates? Work with the BoE.
How will the Tories reduce the cost of living? Pay people a decent wage. How will the Tories reduce energy bills? Tax the energy companies sensibly and close tax loopholes.

LOL..
You really don't get it, do you?
Macron has flatly refused to open up any asylum processing center's in France ...... he can't wait to get rid of them FFS.
The BoE work for themselves, they don't want government poking their noses into their scams.
As for the last one, energy bills, yes it's high time these energy companies were reeled in, they use customers as cash cows, they are a big cause of high inflation and soaring interest rate rise.

Why wouldn't France want us to set up processing centres for asylum seekers in France it would sole a problem for them and get rid of some of their asylum seekers. The Tories have refused because it is part of their culture war in the UK. Every boat that crosses the channel is a 'win' for the Tories.

I think Sunak should be really worried since his own similar constituency isn't that far away from Selby & Ainsty.

The problem the Tories have right now is that the source of our major problems are caused by things the majority wanted.
How do they go into the GE and tell the electorate that they wanted lockdowns and to support Ukraine, and the high cost of living and interest rates are the cost of those decisions?
As for the boats, there is no stopping them, and it is only going to get worse as the change in global climate pushes billions of people north.
I feel sorry for the people thinking that Labour are going to come into power and save them. Starmer has no intention of bringing hope like Blair did, and let's face it, the countries finances are so dire (because of the above) what can he realistically do? We have had 13 years of not much because of what the Tories inherited, this time it is twice as bad...

Around 45% in each by-election, or about 62% of the usual 72% (averages) 55% of the electorate did not turn out so the "couldn't care less" party were the clear winners

People in all three seats had the option of voting for a party even further to the right than the current government. OK they would have known that there was very little chance of them winning the election but tiny numbers chose to send the message that that is what they want.
There seems very little evidence that the electorate wants “right wing populist” policies. Indeed it feels far more likely that traditional Tory voters are heartily sick of culture wars, hate spewing and the sort of policies that Truss trashed the economy with.
The Tory party will need to decide which path to go down after the next election. It feels like they won’t be able to continue to try to straddle two such opposite visions. Do wonder if they will have to split and if so have to embrace PR.

The last 13 years the Tories have been unpopular, the one thing that has been in their favour was that the other parties were even worse.
Especially when it came to the EU.
But now we're out, and the Tories have nothing to fall back on. A new generation of voters who can't remember how shit things were when Blair & Brown were in, and well.
No government stays in power forever. Labour had 13 years. The Tories will be lucky if they get past 14 years. The longer a party remains in office, the harder it is to stay in it.

I doubt Labour will win outright as too much is happening over culture the latest being banks acting politically to disown customer so let's be clear there is a culture war going on that Labour will not speak too yet the electorate will.
The only answer to the immigrant issue is to build camps and have RN boats taking economic migrants back to Africa, Albania and some places in the ME,Labour will never do that.
Labour are no different with Ukraine.
Labour will try and tax drivers more ULEZ is just the start.

Tories have held Uxbridge. Lib Dems win Somerton and Frome. Incredible, so Labour won just 1 out of 3, and Starmer is claiming the biggest victory since England won the world cup! Remarkable.
