Bloodbath for the Tories expected, but in all honesty, I suspect Starmer is more worried than Sunak.

I am very impressed with the Labour candidate in Selby
He would ( if elected ) become one of the youngest MPs in the House of Commons, aged just 25, Keir Mather is a local lad, born in East Yorkshire and brought up in the Selby area.
NOT your typical old style socialist, but more representative of the kind of Labour Party that can win over Tory voters, Mather works for the Confederation Of British Industry, and is backed by several trade unions.
Labour did take this seat and held it throughout the Blair years, together with another constituency in "True Blue" North Yorkshire. Hopefuly a sign of THINGS TO COME

Is this going to be a repeat of your famous assertion after Johnson lost Tiverton and Wakefield (?) that the results were not bad for Johnson?
Tories had a combined majority of over 47000 in the three seats. They may well lose at least two of the three and see that 47000 turn into a negative. If that happens Sunak’s position becomes even weaker.
Remember likely to be one or two more by-elections in autumn.

It wasn't until I was older and gained a bit of life experience I realised I knew absolutely nothing when I was young. If you don't understand that experience comes with age, then you must have had a very sheltered life.

Any results in yet? What channel should I be listening to? I'm currently listening to Times Radio who are discussing it, but tbh, Times Radio are about as impartial as the BBC.
I quickly tired of Times Radio, I'm currently listening to, in fact watching Talk TV.

The polls only closed two hours ago, the only time a count finished by midnight was when fewer thann17% of the electorate turned out. I imagine 2-3 am is mire likel I can’t be arsed to wait up. And Mrs Jog has an early hanging or something at the MOJ so she’s going to be up at 5:30.

But it is important for Starmer, he must win all three.

Think more likely LibDems will be the challenger in Somerton and Frome, where Labour are the main challenger in Selby / Ainsty and Uxbridge / South Ruislip.
LibDems have held Somerton previously, so think we have a great chance there.

Wow.
Starmer is shown to be an incompetent, untrustworthy idiot
Who could possibly have guessed.
EDIT: further reading of the news headlines shows the BBC playing it as disaster for Fishy Rishi (well they would) but the Tory winner by a mere 495 votes down from Boris’s hardly tub thumping 7000 puts the spotlight firmly on Saddo’s ULEZ plans to screw any driver of a 64 plate or earlier £12.50 a day to use it.
While of course South of Calne no right thinking person votes Labour and the Lib Dem 11k majority shows just that.
