I can vouch for this, the Labour party HQ in Cambridge was close to where i grew up, and as a child when we walked past my mother would warn me about it, walk faster, avoid it at all costs, her non verbals too were alarming, like we were skirting the mouth of hell. She did me a favour, that upon growing up she was right. My sensory system flashes constantly over anything socialist, and mentally i reach for the kalashnikov, the red nuclear button, a whip, but thankfully my mothers calm dissaproval wins. Thanks for your confirmation. Remember this, feelings are learnt hormonal reactions and once learnt they are with us into adulthood. The problem is that they cannot and do not have the capacity to apply either logic or rational. ---- Thoughts cannot feel and feelings cannot think. This is the big weakness in the human condition which for some people, places them on the pathway to depression. They then have to work on letting go of irrational beliefs and reactions.

I have the power of discernment, that i can weigh and judge. In this case, as my mothers judgement transferred to me, was not irrational, i got to where she was eventually, i voted red once, when 18. I am a staunch blue for over 50 years. Notice the word eventually, i did not share her view in the beginning, which goes against your blanket judgement.
But through lifes travails, and ongoing education, i realised the reds were full of it.

The sensory system learns, remembers and reacts, but as I stated previously it cannot apply logic or reasoning. The feelings it holds are held to be true whether they are right or wrong, and can, as you say, through life experiences, be either reinforced or reduced in strength. The thinking brain cannot feel anything, it can only recognise feelings taking place in the body. It is therefore either controlled or heavily influenced by learnt hormonal reactions / feelings taking place in the body. The Reds in your experience may well be "full of it" but there is a huge political area of variations and differences between the far left and the far right of politics.

Yes it can, cognition dictates feelings, hormones etc. The mind is the creator. So what creates thought? the soul, the body and mind are just a car, not the driver. As for the far left and far right, they are the same people, both dictators. The difference being is that the far right is more right than the far left.
Im playing on the word right, which in this instance refers to being better, less evil and wrong than the left, both are dictatorships.

Im playing on the word right, which in this instance refers to being better, less evil and wrong than the left, both are dictatorships. Cognition does not dictate either feelings or hormones. Sensory learnt dangers dictate hormones which then create feelings which in turn creates cognition. __ cognition, "the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. Thought: the application of logic to the best of our ability. Experience: the experience and the influence of activity and of the attitudes of the people around us. Senses: the hormonal reactions from the non-thinking, non-rational, non-logical sensory system. __"So what creates thought?"__ The brain cannot feel anything, it can only recognise feelings taking place in the body. The feelings of physical pain and of hormonal reactions are picked up by the brain creating thoughts. __"the soul"__ is the term humans give to the unknown and often misunderstood areas of reactions created by the Sensory System. The Sensory System is the main driver, often but not always, modified by the logical and rationalising thinking part of the brain. Adolf Hitler, Argentina's Galtieri and Spain's dictator Francisco Franco, were all far right dictators and all guilty of mass murder along with rape and torture. IMO the far right and the far left are as bad as each other and both need to be avoided to our best ability.
