It must be a wonan and a duster to make sure the place is clean and tidy for the arrival of the men. I hear there is a serious amount of dust up there. I’m confident a man will invent a better vacuum cleaner to help . They did before .

A duster will do just fine. Of course they do. I’m sure the men can do that easily. The women’s job will be to tell the men where to install it then change their mind .

I think the prospect of Mars colonisation has been 'biged up' by fantasists. There is no real prospect of such a journey being successful. I think our next steps are Robotic exploration of the solar system (underway) Robotic industrialisation of the moon (we can start making inroads on this) If money is to be made then people will say anything to draw attention, and with space exploration being more privatised it will have to be advertised with a load of waffle to make money. I don't even think it's about success or failure. It's about the process or making money (a new market) that some bored multi-billionaires want, where the sexist controversy focus' the attention where it's wanted. Almost all mammalian life is thought to have been wiped out with the dinosaurs, are you claiming such a wipe out could not occur again? If another wipeout is possible then humans will need to have made themselves at home on another planet well in advance of such a possibility.

See2, This is a mind zone thread. Opinions are fine and , if you reply to them, you have to tackle those opinions rather than post something curt and dismissive. The more people do this, the more incorrect opinions thee will be in the thread and the more fun we all have correcting them. If you had included the post of mine you are referring to with your post the above ^^^ I would know what it is you are on about.

Imo the argument that we need to spend huge resources to explore other planets because we might get hit by a fireball anytime soon is about as weak an argument as you could find . However humans seem to be at their best when trying to solve impossible problems and there could be access to huge resources in future .

Dear Bentley,
You say that "Elton John aint the man they think he is at home . He’s a rocket man ."
If he is "a rocket man" as you say then he could certainly be a potential candidate to go on a space launch to Mars.

Dear Bentley,
You say that "He thinks it ‘ gonna be a long long time ‘ apparently."
Presumably you refer to Elton John and how long he personally believes that the journey to Mars would take. And NASA estimate actually that it would take about 9 months to get there.

Veronika Oleksychenko Well he never stated an exact time just… “Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find” Probably because .quote “And all the science, I don't understand It's just my job five days a week A rocket man”

I have serious doubts that any space agency would put in their trust in a pilot had such vague grasp on what was going on around him, what he was doing and why.

Indeed. You would think that they had learned their lesson with David Bowie .

Dear Bentley,
You say that Elton John has admitted in an interview that “And all the science, I don't understand". So let us face it, he has very little chance of being allowed to go to Mars on that basis. Cosmonauts must have a great amount of scientific and technical knowledge and abilities.
