If the French will not cooperate then our only recourse is to make the UK a place for potential illegal immigrants to avoid . It is the second consecutive day that people have been brought to shore in Kent
Nearly 700 migrants arrived in the UK yesterday - the highest daily total in more than seven months.
The total number who have illegally crossed the Channel in small boats this year has now passed 12,000, after a Border Force clipper brought 686 people from 13 boats to shore on Friday.
More arrivals were pictured in Dover this morning - the second consecutive day that Home Office officials were forced to spring into action, after six days without crossings at the start of the month.
Choppy conditions in the last week had put a temporary halt to the illegal crossings.
But a return to warmer weather and calmer seas has encouraged trafficking gangs to step up their operations in the last 48 hours.
A Border Force clipper packed with migrants arrived in Dover today as traffickers
resume Channel crossings amid the fine summer weather.

The Smuggling Gangs are getting as much money as they can now due to difficulty and delays the Government and the country have to endure until they can pass this new Legislation and implement it, if it works and slows down the crossings the Gangs will not earn as much Last report I saw stated £3, 450 the cost of one seat on a boat times that by 686 yesterday alone |

An illegal migrant from Libya / Syria / Afghanistan / Sudan or Iran who passes over, or crosses France to get to another country is not the responsibility of France. To say that "France should take them back" carries no legal weight, they are not the responsibility of France. But that is precisely what France does at their border with Italy - they turn them back and say they are the responsibility of the Italians. Why is Calais something different? |

You want EU membership and thus FoM with other European countries - who happen to be overwhelmingly white. You are against a points based migration system that treats everyone the same regardless of their colour or origin - that is the definition of xenophobic. |
