The answer is a resounding Yes it can ..... Take the case of Mr Jamie Driscoll, a Left wing member of the Labour Party, supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell and other members who belong to the far Left. Mr Driscoll put his name in the hat to become the newly created North East Mayor candidate for Labour, but his candidacy was thrown out by the NEC. Unfortunately Mr Driscoll is or was a member of Momentum, some say a party within a party, similar to Militant in the 1980s, Momentum is often critical of the present Labour Party and of Keir Starmer .... This in my view is unacceptable when trying to show the electorate a united front, and a party unified ready for government. We do not want sitting MPs or elected Labour Mayors acting like thorns in the side of the party, constantly criticising, constantly rebelling, constantly been the headlines in newspapers that look for every opportunity to highlight division within the Labour Party. The time has come, these people either unite and work together or get out And I don't beleive that they ever can. Which is why people like me will never, ever vote Labour. Let's be honest: Blair's government wasn't bad but there was always the nagging feeling that Blair would at some point be ousted and replaced by some gibbering far left loon. I get exactly the same feeling about Starmer. He is surrounded by them and tbh, I don't think Starmer is really all that different. I also wouldn't want him to have the opportunity to prove me right. I don't think the country could sustain another attack.

Im criticising starmer for two main reason .
1. breaking pledges , which makes him look unelectable and untrustworthy.
2. The stupidity of making a pledge in the first place that he doesnt know he can keep.
So i wouldnt make a pledge in the first place that i knew i wouldnt or couldnt honour. As would most sensible people. Starmer was doing reasonably well sitting on his hands saying nothing hoping the two party stitch up would let him fall into government if the tories imploded.
He had to spoil it by opening his mouth and making worthless pledges then subsequently dropping them.
He wont turn me off from voting though. I will be out voting to stop labour as normal.
If you make a 'pledge' in good faith at a time when it is accomplishable and circumstances change that make that pledge financially 'risky' would you continue with it or would you 'plough on regardless or would you explain your reasoning and look at different options? you can polish a turd all day long reddy , but its still a turd.

B'liar was able to unite the party (or at least keep a lid on the loons) but Starmer ain't no B'liar.
Even assuming that he wants to be.

You don't want zero homelessness? Seriously? Stop pretending to care, you aren't fooling anyone, you're just being controversial, like you give a toss about the homeless. The country is full of faux people who pretend to care, all the ones shouting ....***all migrants are welcome*** are the first to be kicking off because they might be putting them near where they live ... LOL ... just watch the loony lefty woke snowflakes they are whinging and whining the most about the illegals.

Do you not eat, pay bills, use transport, buy things.....? Sure, but I don't see the relevance or how Labour will improve anything, considering they're totally corrupt and wasteful. Nothing good will come of it. They have no solutions to anything. Nobody even knows what Starmer stands for. I don't even think Starmer knows. If you plan on making global issues the fault of the Tories then it's up to the good people to point this out. How are they totally corrupt? The monies wasted by the Tory party will not be wasted by Labour.

Why am I pretending, in your mind, you get a question you do not like and start obfuscating. Nobody has said all immigrants are welcome, another lie. Your mates the Tories do not want a fair immigration system because they know you lot will get angry and vote for them even though they are lying to you. You said you want everything I want and I want nothing you want which is obviously a lie. Don't you want a functioning NHS? Don't you want decent wages for workers?

If you promised to buy a car and subsequently found it was defective would you still buy the car. You have no arguments just mind melts, when you come across a question that you are unable to answer honestly, for fear of embarrassment, you hide behind profanities.

What's the point of debating with a faux phoney, you haven't answered a question honestly in the entirety of the forum, you just goad and bait, that's not being honest that's being dishonest, you've reached the pinnacle of your faux phoney dishonesty, even when posters agree with you, you still have to disagree with them ... it's you MO

I dont know what labour and your mate starmer stand for , and what little i have seen of them , the numerous pledges they have dumped , the squirming when put on the spot , and the tired old we hate the tories despite working hand in glove with them , basically makes me think......nah........not only is it a defective car , but its a dodgy salesman selling it so not thanks.

you misunderstand. Im not suggesting thee are bigger circulations out there , im suggesting the pro uk media in scotland such as newspapers are dying as they dont reflect the views of the scottish public. Well the circulation of The National has collapsed - it only sells about 3500 copies now. Are they dying because they dont reflect the views of the scottish public or is it just the case that the dead tree press have had their day - irrespective of their stance on any issue.

The national figures havent collapsed pacifico. Its a relatively new paper , only 9 years old. The daily redcoat on the other hand is 128 years old , And in 2005 , its daily circulation was over 450 000 copies. Today , its less than 60 000.
There is an element of truth in what you say. Alternatively , online , the most viewed scottish politics site is of course wings over scotland . Is this because wings reflects the views of the majority pro independence scottish public as the dead tree press withers on the vine ?

None of us will know what Starmer stands for until we see his manifesto but you dodged the question, would you continue with a 'policy promise' that would harm the electorate if the circumstances change. We all know the Tories will and are.
