Smarmer distances himself from Labour donor who compared climate-change sceptics to Holocaust deniers
Smarmer has been forced to distance himself from a major Labour donor who compared climate change sceptics to Holocaust deniers.
Dale Vince, a green energy entrepreneur, has given the party more than £1.5 million and spoken to Smarmer twice in recent months.
However, he has risked opening a rift with the party after suggesting that refusing to accept climate change was similar to denying the Holocaust and should be made illegal.
“Anyone who says the climate crisis is not happening or it’s not man-made, honestly, I think they’re a dangerous fool, because it’s like denying the Holocaust happened,” he told the Daily Mail.
“This [climate change denial] is denying the holocaust that is coming now,” he said, adding: “It shouldn’t be allowed.”

On Friday morning a spokesman for Smarmer distanced him from the comments, telling The Telegraph: “Dale speaks only for himself.” Smarmer has been criticised for his association with Mr Vince, who is also a major backer of the eco-protest group Just Stop Oil. The entrepreneur has previously promised to match donations to the group and defended their disruption of traffic and sporting events, including the second Ashes test at Lord’s this week. You lot make me laugh. You condemn a party for it's association with a very rich man that also supports but does not go on marches, a group of people that are trying to save the planet. Whilst supporting a party that elevated the son of a Russian spy to the House of Lords against the advice of the security services, a party that sat on a report that exposed the political interference in this country by Russia and receive vast sums of money from a country that is currently murdering Ukrainians by the hundreds. Are you really that daft? |

Police inquiries + Parliamentary inquiries have all found Keir Starmer / Sue Gray / Beergate to be unfounded, innocent, not guilty, and I am talking about Inquiries with Tory majorities.
Its clearly sour grapes, and some people cannt accept the repeated findings of police investigations and results of Parliamentary investigations.
Its what people of the populist Right do - they question the legitimacy of anything and everything that does not fit in with their way of thinking.

When it comes to breaking the law - the Tories are experts at it Fixed Penalty Notice? - pah!  In the last 10 years 7 Labour Mp's have actually been handed a jail sentence for their crimes.. |
