Can the same be said about any other country that carried out track&trace If it was necessary how can it be pointless? - and if it was a waste of money then it was not necessary. I'll give you an example - my next door neighbours tested themselves every single day and sometimes several times a day. Now personally I think that was a pointless waste of money, but many other people thought that testing was necessary.

When they finally tested positive it was like a badge of honour.

The point is that Liz Truss REFUSED to impose any Windfall Taxes and instead actually borrowed money to use for tax cuts.
This was a Tory enacting traditional Tory doctrine, tax cuts no matter what, even at the expense of our now devastated public services, even at the expense of the less well off, who would not benefit at all from tax cuts.
The Labour leadership were 100% correct - it was wrong to borrow money in order to pay for tax cuts, and a Windfall Tax now, would be yet another U-Turn for the Conservatives.

There is already a windfall tax.. Perhaps we need a windfall tax on the windfall tax..

They are not loopholes - they are incentives for investment. Of course if you believe we dont need any investment to expand energy supplies....

They didn't spend the £37b though, that was the total budget allocation for the 2 years. 85% of that budget was for testing. 100m was wasted on the first app, and there will likely be more waste, but not billions, as like I said £37b was the budget, not the spend, and 85% of that was for testing. Yet here you go, repeating the same Labour lies claiming £37b was wasted proving my point that once a lie is out there it can be almost impossible to get rid of it. fullfact.org/health/test-and-trace-37-billion/
