Best enjoy it while we can, then. Now, if you don't mind, I have a £9 bottle of Champagne to finish. i take no enjoyment out of the latest remainer pr gaff. facepalming is becoming synonymous with remain all too often.

You’re in a difficult position, Tommy. Brexit has given the Scottish independence movement a new impetus. Brexit was a Scottish nationalist’s dream come true. The farther away from the EU the UK moves, the stronger the Scottish Nationalist position becomes. Starmer is a bit of a fly in the ointment. As you have said yourself, he wants to substitute Brexit for Brino. That’s not good for you. There’s a chance that the Scots who wanted independence because of the EU issue will be appeased, and your dream will fade. There’s nothing anyone can do about that, Tommy.

Indeed it is an interesting clip. As someone on GB News said, this is more widespread than most people think, hopefully picking on Farage will give this issue a lot of attention, particularly in parliament. it is interesting red. As i said up the thread , the wings over scotland owner stuart campbell is making similar claims about his first direct account being closed due to his high profile criticism of transgender issues. This is more widespread than we think . Perhaps some good will come of this , the law of unintended consequences as they say. Since Farage had his bank accounts closed, or given warning they are shortly to be closed, a few people have come forward to say they have also had their bank accounts closed because of their political, religious, gender etc beliefs. We are walking into a situation in which banks can without any explanation decide who becomes a non person, banks have given themselves the authority to cancel people. The government have to get a grip of this and quickly. Unfortunately as we have seen on this forum, lefties seem happy because it's Farage, the man behind Brexit. Sadly they seem incapable of understanding the dystopian implications of banks who promote a cashless society, and banks deciding who may and may not have a bank account.

It's mad, the government have to step in. We need legislation to stop this, for Christ sake a bank account of all things must be seen as a human right. How can anyone live without something as basic as a bank account especially since the banks themselves are promoting the cashless society.

The straw clutching is that bad now , you are reduced down to blaming the nasty jocks for brexit ? Did i miss the snp walking around england holding a gun to the english heads to vote brexit? If you think scottish nationalism is centred around the issue that appears to drive you nuts most days on this forum ....brexit , ......you are even more deluded than even i thought darling.
How then is that not reflected in polls? using your feeble logic for a wee minute darling , when brexit happened support should have went through the roof for scot indy and rose even further as the uk moved away from the EU. Its been three and a half years darling since the uk offically left. What we have seen is a gradual rise in support for scot indy , totally unrelated to brexit , and more in line with the older unionist dying out and the younger nationalists coming onto the voting role.
On top of that , while scotland is undoubtedly pro european and always has been , we managed to get 45 % of scottish indy supporter to support yes no matter wether we were thrown out the eu for leaving a then current member state or not.
While brexit is undoubtedly one of many issues that fans scottish indy , im afraid its not the all consuming passion you think it is for most scots.
why not? Is this you delving back into darlings alternative universe , where taking away farages bank account solves brexit , and forcing BRINO does the same with scot indy? Im afraid we arent all as shallow as you mate. Bitterness tends to cloud the mind as we can see from reading your posts.
theres many scots who wanted independence who didnt want the EU darling. Albas main policy on europe is membership of EFTA , not joining the EU immediately. The EU for many scots is a side issue .
isnt life simplistic for the naive darling? Get keir in , who will of course give darling the BRINO he so desperately craves , and all those other wee problems will disappear over night. I mean until the eu issue , in your simple world , no jocks ever wanted to leave the uk did they?
You couldnt ever have heard of those first 120 years of union , where there were armed uprising and rebellion against the uk in scotland , or the centuries of independence movements , or what about the formation of the snp in the thirties? Cunninghame graham was a visionary indeed in seeing the need to set up and merge scottish indy parties to stop brexit some 82 years prior to the vote and unpredicted outcome.
Home rule bills? pah! Lord seafields first scottish home rule bill in 1714 was done purely after his crystal ball gazing predicted brexit and darlings never ending tantrums centuries in the future.
I know your fragile ego cant possibly think that brexit isnt the centre of everyones universe darling , but sometimes you have to accept reality mate that you might just possibly be out on a limb on your own.

Is that correct?

But banks can close your personal account for various even spurious reasons. And is it ok this vicar had his account closed and was discriminated against because of his religious beliefs?

The liberal left are quite happy with any injustice against people they hate as we have seen .
Further consequences down the line matter not. We saw this with their lame excuses about overturning democracy to get what they wanted post 2016 to 2019 , when it was politely pointed out not honouring a free and fair referendum result could have very big implications for uk demcoracy going forward.
Here its similar. The fact this could easily happen to them never enters their bitter twisted minds.
You are crediting people with a sense of justice and integrity they dont appear to have , or having a moral backbone that they obviously lack. To the remainer the end justifies the means.

First They Came For Nigel Farage…
One could be forgiven for thinking there’s a secret blacklist somewhere, and that Nigel Farage and his family are on it. Increasingly, people and organisations who don’t think the right way are being refused service by their bank – or in Farage’s case, eight banks. The targets have included those associated with UKIP and the Brexit Party (including two former MEPs), Laurence Fox’s Reclaim Party, Wings Over Scotland, a Church of England vicar – and probably many more that we don’t know about.
But I don’t agree with Mr. Brexit’s hypothesis that this happened to him because he’s a “politically exposed person” – he doesn’t meet the definition. In my view, this “cancellation” is a political attack that signals the left-wing/woke blob’s capture of the banking system – a new and very dangerous phase of the culture war where everything including one’s ability to pay the rent is under threat.
As evidence of this general trend, last year PayPal tried to cancel Toby Young, the Daily Sceptic and the Free Speech Union (before reversing course under considerable pressure), but it’s worth remembering some of the other victims: the children’s rights group UsForThem, Gays Against Groomers, the gender-critical evolutionary biologist Colin Wright, alternative news site The Exposé, the conservative group Moms for Liberty, socialist outlets Consortium News and MintPress News, the UK Medical Freedom Alliance, Left Lockdown Sceptics and Law or Fiction, as well as probably many more who either don’t have the clout to draw attention to their plight, or who decided it was best to keep quiet.
The above people and organisations have expressed views that are gender-critical or anti-lockdown, or which don’t fit the narrative on Ukraine. To adopt any of these is to make make one an enemy of the woke blob. But particularly irritating for me, in this respect, is Chris Bryant’s claim last year in the House of Commons that Nigel Farage took £548,573 from RT (formerly Russia Today) in the 2018 calendar year – which may have been the pretext for his banking cancellation.

Indeed. Banks should not be concerned about their customers political views. The only reason a bank should deny, cancel or close someone's bank account is if they have done something illegal, money laundering for example. What's next I wonder, supermarkets banning customers who don't kneel for BLM?

Banks are businesses, IMO they will do nothing to hinder or harm their business. I have no doubt the truth will come out at some time and if it shows that Farage is a bad bet for a Bank there will be a lot of people with egg on their face.

Typical lefty, zero common sense, no vision. Totally incapable of understanding the implications of authoritarian banks who promote a cashless society deciding who may or may not have a bank account. Has anyone else noticed that lefties on the forum cant see the big picture. See2, Brave New World is a dystopian novel, not an instruction manual. FFS you lot (lefties) are dangerous.

I have no doubt the truth will come out at some time and if it shows that Farage is a bad bet for a Bank there will be a lot of people with egg on their face. How so? Why is farage , a right of centre brexiter , a bad bet for a bank , and who decides this? Wh isnt keir starmer , a centrist , a bad bet for a bank ,but yet stuart campbell of wings over scotland , a left of centre liberal is also a so called bad bet for a bank?
Do you not actually understand what is being said here? Or how people being cancelled is bad news in a so called civilsed democracy?
If , and its a big if , this is nothing more simple than a normal run of the mill closing down of someones account for mild reasons , it could have been far better handed as i have said. It hasnt been , and farages office must be cheering on the stupidity of someone somewhere giving the man a large dose of publicity and vast amount of public sympathy.
It doesnt look a simple open and shut case though. Its happened to too many people across the political spectrum , that this goes way beyond mere coincidence. The one thing they all have in common is supporting views that dont fit with the established narrative.
Why am i not surprised you new labour luvving so called champions of democracy and the working class are all out supporting this outrage though? We all remember new labours bonfire of civil liberties last time you were in power , so its no suprise to me you support farage being closed down.
The shocking truth about the erosion of our fundamental civil liberties by Tony Blair's government will be exposed this summer in TAKING LIBERTIES, released on DVD in the UK cinemas by Revolver Entertainment October 15th 2007. Right to Protest, Right to Freedom of Speech. Right to Privacy. Right not to be detained without charge, Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Prohibition from Torture. TAKING LIBERTIES will reveal how these six central pillars of liberty have been systematically destroyed by New Labour, and the freedoms of the British people stolen from under their noses amidst a climate of fear created by the media and government itself. TAKING LIBERTIES uncovers the stories the government don't want you to hear -- so ridiculous you will laugh, so ultimately terrifying you will want to take action. Teenage sisters detained for 36 hours for a peaceful protest; an RAF war veteran arrested for wearing an anti-Bush and Blair T-shirt; an innocent man shot in a police raid; and a man held under house arrest for two years, after being found innocent in court. Ordinary law-abiding citizens being punished for exercising their 'rights' -- rights that have been fought for over centuries, and which seem to have been extinguished in a decade.

To the remainer the end justifies the means. Same with the totalitarian left, to which many of the same people appear to belong (and indeed are outing themselves on this very thread).
