The same thing has just happened in scottish politics with wings over scotland owner stuart campbell having his bank accounts closed without any serious explanation.
If this is true , then its a chilling attack yet again here in the" free west" on democracy and freedom of speech.

Don't know. Seems unlikely. Can't say I listened through the whole 7 minutes but didn't seem a lot of evidence given in the bit I did listen too. If the whole story is as he says it is (and that feels unlikely) it would be outrageous. I suspect not though.
Nice that he is so proud of his little trophy though.....

I detest the man and his politics , but if this is true , then its a shocking indictment of where the uk finds itself in the 21 st century. Having given the earlier example of stuart campbell of wings having the same treatment meted out , i would suspect this is more likely true than not.
I suspect farage is being made further into a martyr by the political establishment who want the uk back in the EU .

I think to judge the Stuart Campbell case we would have to understand what he meant by "Explaining to them that I clearly knew nothing about this or I'd have done something about it". And then of course hear from the bank why this action was taken. It may be outrageous, it may be perfectly legitimate. Without the facts who knows.

I think to judge the Stuart Campbell case we would have to understand what he meant by "Explaining to them that I clearly knew nothing about this or I'd have done something about it". And then of course hear from the bank why this action was taken. It may be outrageous, it may be perfectly legitimate. Without the facts who knows.
Campbell did expalin things. He had his accounts frozen without prior knowledge or notice , similar to farage , and when he started to get notices of direct debits and standing orders failing to be paid out , he then had to spend time explaining to those companies why this had happened while demanding answers from his then bank first direct.
To my knowlege campbell still hasnt been given a satisfactory answer as to why his bank , which he has been with without major issue for years took this action.
Knowing this happened to campbell 3 days ago , this is why the farage proclamation on twitter jumped out at me and got me wondering what the hell is going on .
If banks can withdraw services from individuals for political reasons , then surely we are in a bad place.?

Today Nigel Farage has told us that the bank that he has used since the 1980s has closed his personal bank account, and that half a dozen other banks have refused to let him open an account with them, also reform UK has been unable to open a bank account.
If the substance of this is true then we live in a society that makes Soviet Russia look benign.
The Establishment appear to be frightened of him (and of us), I hope this makes good news coverage, it is quite outrageous, we must follow this story with great interest.

Cant say I have heard of Stuart Campbell so cant comment on his case.
Odious little man that he is, I agree it would be outrageous if his bank accounts were closed for no reason. I doubt if that is the case.
