I recall an interview he did with Peter Mandelson and the subject turned to 'being out of power' Tony talked about his dethroning and said something like this - "When you are out of power you, of course, do what you can..you build up your power base" ..and i remember thinking, "Do you really? - why can't you simply retire or pursue something honest? Is this an entirely honorable endeavor considering you are leveraging your now defunct elected role, but you are no longer elected by anyone to do anything at all?" I regularly visit his institute whilst holding my nose and sick bag in other hand to see what he’s up to,on top of this there are two charities? One in his another in his wife’s name. The uk charity industry (because that’s what it is) needs an overhaul from top to bottom like the HoL does,will it happen? doubt it. |
