Quite the stat from Dominic Lawson in the Sunday Times:
More than 5,500 customers have had their bank accounts closed by @natwestgroup
. None was able to talk to anyone at the bank about why it had happened. Some were told to "use a food bank".
use a food bank ? Who could possibly be cheering this sort of debanking scandal on except the utterly deranged ?
Strangeness is amongst us, Zany started off saying it was all bollox, then mentioned he had done some work for CAB and said to the grasshopper you wouldn't believe some of it. That was until the cat escaped from the bag and ran wild around the room.

It will be identity politics on steroids and will become more authoritarian. yep. From the last labour government....a glimpse of a prospective future starmer one....
The shocking truth about the erosion of our fundamental civil liberties by Tony Blair's government will be exposed this summer in TAKING LIBERTIES, released on DVD in the UK cinemas by Revolver Entertainment October 15th 2007.
Right to Protest, Right to Freedom of Speech. Right to Privacy. Right not to be detained without charge, Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Prohibition from Torture. TAKING LIBERTIES will reveal how these six central pillars of liberty have been systematically destroyed by New Labour, and the freedoms of the British people stolen from under their noses amidst a climate of fear created by the media and government itself. TAKING LIBERTIES uncovers the stories the government don't want you to hear -- so ridiculous you will laugh, so ultimately terrifying you will want to take action.
Teenage sisters detained for 36 hours for a peaceful protest; an RAF war veteran arrested for wearing an anti-Bush and Blair T-shirt; an innocent man shot in a police raid; and a man held under house arrest for two years, after being found innocent in court. Ordinary law-abiding citizens being punished for exercising their 'rights' -- rights that have been fought for over centuries, and which seem to have been extinguished in a decade.
Which is why Thomas I am suspicious of this new idea to allow face recognition technology to curb shoplifting (course it is) till you look and see who is promoting it,Blair’s foundation. What annoys me is so many tories take advice from him I wish him and his foundation would sod off.

You walk into a well known local supermarket and as soon as you go in the main doors , the camera zooms in on your face, and you can see this on a large screen as you walk past.
Blairs hands are into everything , and i have to say , i think the man the worst most corrosive political leader in the uk s modern history by a country mile.
The fact starmer appears to be advised and surrounded by blair brown and mandelson , and many other with massive baggage from the disasterous new labour years is extremely worrying. I agree with what you are saying about other political parties. Its not just the tories , but the nuSNP are following in the foosteps of new labour in so many ways.

Britain’s Labour government has just announced funding plans for the purchase of thousands more closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras. The CCTV cameras will be installed up and down the country at 250 crime “hotspots”—commercial shopping areas, transport and hospital sites.
There are estimated to be a staggering one million CCTV cameras in action today—one for every 60 citizens. Today the average city dweller can expect to be captured on film every five minutes.
New Labour's dream is a surveillance state nightmare
The irony, of course, is that Blair led New Labour down the path towards an authoritarian, target-driven, intrusive state.

What annoys me is so many tories take advice from him I wish him and his foundation would sod off. I recall an interview he did with Peter Mandelson and the subject turned to 'being out of power' Tony talked about his dethroning and said something like this - "When you are out of power you, of course, do what you can..you build up your power base" ..and i remember thinking, "Do you really? - why can't you simply retire or pursue something honest? Is this an entirely honorable endeavor considering you are leveraging your now defunct elected role, but you are no longer elected by anyone to do anything at all?"

Congratulations to Coutts for making Farage relevant again . A new hobby horse was just the thing he needed . It's better than his usual hobby horse of scapegoating brown people. East Europeans are mainly white people.

Strangeness is amongst us, Zany started off saying is was all bollox, then mentioned he had done some work for CAB and said to the grasshopper you wouldn't believe some of it. Not just zany , but theres a number of folk in this thread , who increasingly have egg on their faces cheering on the indefensible. I think they will quietly slink away into the shadows as farage comes out of it looking the martyr , and the growing scandal engulfs more and more people and politicians , the pivoting will become unbearable.
Most folk who dont necessarily need to be a nigel farage supporter could see from the start this was a complete no no , but hatred blinds some people beyond the point of reason.
Meh! You don't care about Farage. You're here because of Campbell from Chicken Wings over Scotland.

Blimey zany you've met your match here, this is like watching tweedledum and tweedledee exchanging posts. Its a bit strange. Its called polite conversation. You'll get used to it in time. If you call polite conversation Darling taking the piss out of you... well hey-ho
Didn't you realise (no I don't suppose you would) he was goading you, he knew exactly what you were talking about, but he played you at your own game, he waffled on and on just to get a reaction.
